I know a lot of us on here have our own little strategies on how we sell and advertise our cds in order to get the maximum amount of money for them, but I was just wondering what everyones thoughts were on the amount of cds you should list at once.

I'm mainly talking about the really rare cds you know you should get a good amount for. I know a lot of us out there have some very rare cds, but do you think it's a good idea to list all of them or a whole bunch of them all in one auction? I was thinking about how so many people are listing rare cds nowadays, but the question is, are there enough big spenders out there where you feel comfortable that your cd will sell for the price your expecting it to sell for? What I mean, if there's only so many big spenders out there, then they'll most likely stay commited to trying to buy just one cd they have there eye on knowing it will go for a high price and they won't have money to be trying to bid on all the other rare cds you have up for auction. That's why I was thinking it might be better to list a few rare cds at a time, giving the big spenders more time to replenish there wallets.

Has anyone else thought about this at all, or do think it's pretty much just luck and people are going to get the same amount of money for the cd no matter how they space out their auctions?

It makes sense to list common items. meaning list cd's from same genres of music, all same. Or if you got all rap then do all rap from one area for each week of auctions. Then the next week sell all your stuff from another area. Then ppl have ways to connect everything and it attracts them more. Also if you have enough feedback already don't worry about posting your really rare stuff out there. You will get plenty of bidders. It's only the new accounts that you gotta hold off on. But as I said keep them in common themes or connections between products (cd's). I have also found that detailing everything really well doesn't bring in bidders. keep descriptions simple and to the point but don't leave them blank. You need to strike a balance. And it seems the more stuff you put up at once the more ppl pay attention to you and take you seriously as a seller. It's hard doing that much stuff for me at least, but if you got no problems doing that put up as much at a time as you can do but keep them connected wit each other wit genre of music, or area, etc as I said before. That will in turn also make it easier on you to remember what you got and what you are selling rather than making things totally random. Hope that helps.

Hey I didn't get a reply so I assume what I said was helpful guys? I have said it before I am no genius when it comes to this and am far from knowing this business like many of you. I do my homework on some stuff, but others it is alot of time and energy needed and hard for me to invest. And I know that even guys like j-blo would be fast to point out I make my mistakes and probably don't do what I need to do always to get it. So I know I didn't start this thread but would be interested to get input from some of you other veteran sellers as to doing the best on ebay. What else can we do to maximize profits, or sales and to gain a consumer base. A following like that of 999ways or other well known sellers. Where the ppl just keep coming back. Obviously selling stuff and representing it well is important. But maybe I'm too honest and too detailed in condition descriptions? Maybe I put too much emphasis on having mint or close to mint and others don't feel as strongly? Please share your thoughts and wisdom. Much appreciated. Thx
