LOL! I don't know about that...

2001 had some dope songs on it ("What's The Difference", "I Just Wanna Fuck You", "The Watcher", "The Next Episode"), but the beats Dre makes nowadays sound more East Coast-ish and droopy (for lack of a better term). The Bay is mostly about being mid-to-uptempo in terms of the music and I can't imagine, say, Taydatay or C-Bo flowing to a track with the sound and pace of the instrumental portion of "Bitch Niggas" (also from 2001) or "Hennessey 'N Buddah" (from Snoop's malnourished LAST MEAL). Just my opinion, though. PEACE!

It's funny that cats question Dr. Dre. Just look at the numbers over the last several years and see who keeps comin' in at #1.

The bay doesn't need Dre to play Captain Save-The-Bay. They need to re-invent themselves. The formula might have worked 10 years ago but it AIN'T WORKIN' NOW and cats need to accept that. Cats been there & done that... Go back to the studio and don't come out until you create something new! And if that's asking too much then pass the torch to someone who can.

People have been saying that for years now... Isn't it about time someone listens?

The bay isn't going to attract more fans than it has right now without a new twist on things. It's that simple. Even if artists continue to put out decent music, the only people who will hear it will be those who are already checking for it. Reach out and get a new audience.

Sick Wid It is on point here.. a lot of cats are coming out with products that would have fit perfectly with everything else in 1995.. That shit is ridiculous!! How are you gonna make it when you make that same music over 8 years later?? It ain't gonna happen... you're gonna get a few people from your block to play it and say it's "the slump" and that's it- not goin anywhere else! People need to check the beats they are about to spit on and make sure that shit bangs out and doesn't fit in no 1994 folder.. and check their flows, because if it's been said or done before, the chances of it going anywhere are slim to none. Do something innovative and new WHILE being yourself. That should be everyone's main focus in my humble opinion. Grant Theft

quinn needs dre to make him some beats. i think he is perfect for them beats. he came way sicker on the watcher off the mixtape than either dre or jay-z. but yeah, 250,000 is waaayyy too much for a bay area artist to drop on a beat, even for 40.

I think that is exactly what people like E-40 are trying to do with Ric Roc. He went out and made his name on a national scale and is still showing love to his bay partners. It's just that having Ric Roc's name is not a garunteed plaque like Neptunes or Dre or Timbaland.

DR.DRE= 250,000 OR MORE PER TRACK..
MANNIE FRESH= 100,000 OR MORE PER TRACK..
DJ PAUL= 80,000 PER TRACK..
SWISS BEATS= 150,000 PER TRACK..

THE REASON THEY CHARGE SO DAMN MUCH IS BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT THE ARTIST WILL MAKE MILLIONS OF THE ALBUM SO WHATS A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND.. THAT STATEMANT WAS MADE BY MANNIE FRESH, I READ IN A OLD MAGAZINE..
