Does drinking alcohol and smoking weed ruin your spirituality?

OK so I've read in the bible that you can't be spiritual if your drunk or high.

Then also in magick books it says you can't do magick or gain power and that your spells will not work under the influence.

After seeing this I have some to the conclusion that being high or drunk doesn't you be spiritual.. weather you are working for the good or darkside....

Weed is a plant, Alcohol is fine as long as your not a lush.

1 Corinthians 6

19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
