they always hire here in Stockton.you gotta apply online.you pretty much just apply then the next page will say to go to UPS like at 5:00 am for a walk thru.i applied on a friday and i had to go there the next monday.they pretty much tell you what your gonna do and show you around then talk to you by yourself for a minute and ask you if you wanna do it still.i applied for the night position, but that ones hard to get.95% of the time when you get hired its for mornings.its like 8 somethin an hour.its union.you get paid weekly.for the first month or so tho they take some scratch outta your check for your union membership.and the work aint no joke.from what i understand, you will be drippin sweat, like drippin like a mothafucka for real.........

your basicly on call for the first few months.you gotta call at 2 am to see if they need you.but your only "guarenteed" i think 3 or 4 hours if you do work.but you gotta be available from like 3 to 9 cus you will sometimes work 5 or 6 hours.so as far as school,as long as you aint got class before 10 you should be cool, cus if you got class at 9:30,you aint gonna go straight to school soakin wet.after a few weeks or months, theres really no time frame, you will be on everyday.at that point you wont have to call in everyday.then cus its union you get a raise every so many hours worked.overtime goes with senority.........

if you wanna be a driver it goes by senority.alotta cats dont hang cus it aint alotta hours and you really dont know when the next driver is gonna retire.them cats dont quit cus there makin 20-30 dollars an hour with overtime everyday.my boy has been there for 5 years and he's gonna be a driver next month.the dude above him who's gonna be a driver starting the same month has been there for 10 years.so you can see how that works.........thats pretty much everything you might need to know unless im missin somethin............

do you WORK at UPS or KNOW sumbody who does??? Cuz I just quit not that long ago, and you got sum stuff hella backwards.. unless that's how your hub does it outt here.. I dunno

Anyway, when you apply online you choose the shift you're applying for. Either pre-load, morning, twilight, or night. Then your tour is during the time period of the shift you applied for. You'll probably have two interviews, and then you'll get hired.

You'll start off at 8.50 an hour and benefits for school are effective immediate. I think I didnt get health and dental until after 6 months after seniority and then vision or whatever. Seniority is achieved after 30 days. Most jobs are based on seniority, you usually can find job posting on the union bulletin board which should be located by the entrance. That's how you get the pimp cushion jobs, but you prolly gon hafta wait 6 months to year before you can get one. However, after 30 days you can file your letter of intent to be a part-time supervisor which is decent scrilla.

You'll be working about 4 hours shifts 5 days a week, but sometimes more. You can work double, even triples, but it depends on hubs cuz they dont wanna pay too much. After 5 hours in a day it's overtime. Also, if you're 21 then you can put in a bid to be a driver. (not a rig, but package delivery. They still pull 70 Gs) That's not based on seniority, it's only based on bids... hella good shit to get into, so as soon as a position opens put your bid in HELLA quick and ur straight. After 3 months you get a raise, after you learn your belt you get another dollar raise etc etc. For the most part, UPS is a koo job. Unloading is kinda hard cuz it's NON STOP ALL NIGHT, Loading aint too bad cuz you get breaks in between trucks and the flow isn't consistent.

Your best bet, is either file for supervisor, or put in a bid to be a driver.

I had all kinds of bruises every where but I was in good shape thou..I stop working there cause a box landed on my foot and they tryed to tell me that it was all my fault blah blah..I was like fuck that. i've got friends that work there, great job if you're going to college too.

my friends work evenings. after working there long enough they now get tuition re-embursement and are in the teamsters union so they get paid good too.

hard work though

tuition reimbursement/ waivers are effective the first day you get hired tho; even before you get seniority.

Also, I think some people hype the work up a lil bit. It really aint that big of a deal, I mean occasionally you might get some 70 pound packages, a few 110 whatever. On average, you're only going to be lifting about 35-40 pound packages; also anything OVER 70 pounds you're not REQUIRED to lift by yourself. So it really aint that hard.

One thing to remember is BUST YOUR ASS off the first 30 months. Once you gain senority and you're part of the union, UPS basically CAN NOT fire you. So after you gain senority you can slack off hella and they won't do shit.

must be different were your at then.over here you start at 8 somthin.i know its not 8.50.its 8 30 somthin or 60 somethin.you apply for morning or twilight but when you go for your tour you go in the morning........

as far as being a driver.you put in a bid at 21,but after that its senority.supervisor gigs aint based on senority.........

also as far as insurence goes, its free but it goes by how many hours you work in a month.basicly if you work this month, its getting you your benefits for next month.........

trust me broham.i've heard it all for the past four years from 2 people.i know how it is "over here" as far as applying.and the tour,i did that...........
