To me, Arthur Ashe was as respected and relished for his cultural and societial influences as his tennis exploits. He and Althea Gibson helped intigrate tennis, plus he was one of the first celebrity hetero to contract AIDS, by a blood transfusion! He was one who transended sports alone. A Jackie Robinson, Henry Aaron of sorts, for both race and AIDS! He definitely deserved the accolades!
