Far away from beeing a classic but still nice.
The problem is only 12 tracks and half of them were released too early.

But the Intro, Cream and Appeal are really nice.

i like about half the songs,

this album didn't live up to its potential at all, and i am a fan of both artists,

i am somewhat disappointed, but i wasn't expecting a "classic" for fear of a let down,

so at least i ain't let down... lol

Preach on...That song is garbage. Plus I have no idea what Kurupt is saying on the chorus...something about hopscotch?

I actually thought that song was one of the slaps that caught my attention in 2009. I agree that this album's not for everyone, but I'm 32 years old and raised on the West Coast, got that album from a pirate-savvy homegirl who I turned on to that video, and I have to say, I really like the album.

If you like DJ Quik and Kurupt back in the day, and have an open mind towards experimental/futuristic slaps, I think its a damn good album. I didn't -love- it the first time I heard it, but its a fuckin' bbq and drink a 40, backyard dance-party west coast album, semi-grown-folks album. If that's what you and your folks dig -- fuck with it!

I swear, in 2009 people are afraid too ADD to listen to an album 3-4 times and soak it in and let songs grow on them, that maybe they didn't feel exactly on first listen. Especially if you, er, um, used to, or know someone, or can vibe with folks that play wit they nose... I strongly suspect that was their secret power-up for this album. Shit is grown-folks, untrendy, funky, experimental music. Dudes are both talented. It's not for everybody, but shit's got some dope tracks on it, in my humble opinion.

That song's one of the throw-back songs that sorta sounds 15 years old, and is fuckin clean to me! If you like Quik, I don't understand how you can't like that song.

Also, I think Quik and Kurupt in concert would be one of the best shows you can see this year. Especially if you are on some at least lightweight grown-up shit.

Not trying to jock too hard, cuz its not a classic by any stretch, but I was surprised at all the negativity in this thread.

The first half of the album is fire to me.....I think the shit lost momentum after that Exodus track.....

I didnt expect a classic either, seeing these niggas BEEN past their prime.....However, Quik is STILL a solid producer in 2009, after being in the game for damn near 2 decades....Kurupt, we all know he fell the fuck off, but Quiks beats gave him a good backdrop to rap on....and hell yea, that 9 Times Outta 10 shit is weak.....The beat really aint that innovative for Quiks standards, and honestly I thought the content was uninspired as fuck, like WTF was Kurupt even saying on that shit?

Other than that, its got some perfect tracks for the summer to ride out to.....Its that real chill music that Quik is known for putting out...

This shit wasn't what I expected at all, just listened to the whole disc all the way through. Quik def. created a new sound (again), his production is through the roof the past few years. This seems very much like a concept album to me, not really sure what the concept is but it is WAY out there. This the kind of thing where I can see people scratching their heads at first, but it gets under your skin real quik (ha ha). Certainly I can see some people not feeling this but to me it is almost like a West Coast version of Outkast at their weirdest (you know, when Outkast was still good).

good review, i havent heard it, but the reviews i been hearin have been mixed. i think people have a expectation like quik is gonna be rappin like he was on safe + sound & kurupt is gonna be rappin like streetz iz a mutha, the songs i heard slap, i like that hey playa song, and 9x outta 10 grew on me after the first couple of listens. even the song my nigga tre mak is on he didnt like it but hella people been sayin how dope it is, i think it slap and sum shit for the clubs and gonna give him exposure

don't really care for Kurupt as of late but I thought this was pretty weak considering Quiks past production credits...

I'm not feeling the direction he took with this at all... with the exception of these heaters he kept his distinctive sound on:

Blaqkout
Cream N Ya Panties
Do You Know
Hey Playa
The Appeal

rest of the album was trash

^^^even then, when the production starts to get on point, its like what the fuck is up with the rapping? so off beat, this album is garbage to me. But hey, i thought Z-Ro's "Crack" album was garbage too.

Ehh... I was kinda dissappointed too. People hyped this shit up to the heavens (Including me) but dont get me wrong though some of the songs on here slap hard. other songs had me thinking he tried too hard to be on some other shit and kinda failed.
