Well, in 4 years or so of selling CDs, the USPS finally lost a big package. About $140 worth of CDs. I distinctly remember shipping this package because the buyer asked me to put cardboard around the CDs. I also had at least one other package lost about the same time, but it is only a $8-$10 CD. A couple other people have hit me up saying they haven't got there stuff yet, but I think they did finally get it. It's like the USPS is fucking holding up all my shit or somethin.

The buyer is Other2Worlds. Dude seems legit to me, but has anyone had any dealings with him lately?

How would you all handle this? Obviously it sucks for both of us, and everyone on eBay says we aren't responsible for the post office fuck ups, but I can't just leave dude without any CDs. I am probably just gonna replace what I can and then give dude credit towards any other auctions.

Just a word of advice to anyone bein lazy about the tracking info. If you are shipping within the US. GET THE TRACKING. I know it is insanely expensive for overseas packages, but get whatever you can.

how long has it been since you shipped it? i remember something that usually takes 3-5 days taking a couple weeks instead. anything within the USA i always ship with confirmation, and most times anything that goes for alot for international i'll ship it Registered even if they didn't pay for it, just in case they try to screw me.

i insured most packages for usa and if not insurance i use delivery confirmation. if u insure the package you dont need to get the delivery confirmation because it has a tracking number on it, that the post office can check but the customer cant check online.

there a form you can fill out for non insure USA package- i forgot what its called- ask someone at post office.

for overseas packages i was told if use the GREEN CUSTOM FORM without paying for REGISTERED you can track the packages as long COUNTRY THE PACKAGE IS GOING TO SCAN IT. it hasnt work yet for me.

Sup Jay Deuce -

i actually work for the USPS post office (in the back where they sort boxes and packages) and i always see loose CDs and DVDs that fall out of their packages. each Post Office has a holding area where they store and hold loose items that fall out of packages. so with that being said, you have a chance on finding your "lost" items.

here is what you should do...

01) Go back to the post office you sent the package at and ask to see if they still have it there. You should tell them that you sent a package at their office and that it somehow got lost during delivery.

02) If they dont have it there, ask them which post office the package got sent to after mailing it with them. (most likely it got sent to your main post office in your area for sorting). just ask them for a number where you can call the next post office or main post office in your area.

03) If you have to contact the main post office, just tell them your situation again and give them a description of what was in the package. tell them how many CDs you sent and the titles of the CDs. they should be able to help you or give you more info on how to find lost packages.

04) If the main post office doesnt have it, then your package MIGHT be at the airport somewhere. you can try calling Baggage Claim to see if they have your package or loose items.

05) and if the airport doesnt have it, then the package got lost in the country it arrived in. OR your buyer could be lying about it...maybe hes trying to scam you into getting his money back???

06) but i dont know, if the package is UNCLAIMED or for some reason couldnt get delievered to the buyer then it should get sent back to you. i actually had 2-4 unclaimed packages get returned to me within a 3 month period. you should tell your buyer to check with his post office to see if they have it their waiting for him to pick it up.

i think thats all the advice i can give you. hope everything works out.

there's one more option, have the person you sent it to check their postal service office, that happened to me once, the buyer checked his postal office and found out they had it for a couple weeks and never even told him about it. i was relieved cause it was a expensive cd, didn't send it registered & it was an honest buyer.

I mailed a $55 book one time to a half.com buyer and they claimed it never showed up. I ended up giving a refund because the buyer sounded very honest and sincere. Then about two months later out of the blue the buyer emails me saying that book just arrived and the buyer ended up sending me a check for the book. So to this day I still have not had anything come up as lost.

that book rate shipping is slow as fuck though....always wait a while on that....Jay I have had some weird shit with shipping as I am sure you have also...I have had shit take like 3 weeks within the united states on cds...if it goes to the wrong city first, it causes a huge fuckin delay....I would hold out a little longer and then try to work out something with the buyer, I know it sucks but really all u can do

Thanks for the advice all. The buyer is asking for the same CD's and not a refund. I can replace most of them.

I believe it was shipped out on May 29th. The day after Memorial Day. Not positive on it, but it was close. I have had some weird shit happen, but never this long for a US package.
