Computer help, monitor won't display after standby

Previously I installed windows xp sp2 and my computer restarted it self once after the installation. It said it has recovered from a serious error and that error was the driver for the graphics controller needed to be updated, so I did update it. But now each and every fuckin time I put it on standby and get back on the computer, the monitor won't display shit, everything turns on after stand by even the monitor except it's all black and won't display shit. Any idears?

first check your physical connection. If its still fucked up and you updated everything, then its probably a defective monitor. Get a new one

Naw my monitor works fine when I start the computer up, it's when I put it on standby for later use and when I turn it back on from standby the monitor won't display, it's the fuckin driver that fucked shit up, I knew I shoulda never installed SP2.

mine used to do the same shit, i jus went into the control panel and turned off standby and hybernation(sp?) theres no way around it u jus need to turn it off

the same shit just started happening to me. I dont know what the problem is. I just press the hibernation button and after it goes into hibernation, i press it again and i get everything back. but yeah, just turn off stand by mode and it won't happen again
