Computer Bios Question

I had to use my old AMD x4 phenom cpu to download the bios update to use with my new x6... But I want to re-install my O.S (reformat) ... By doing this, does it erase the bios update I made?

you probably updated the bois on the motherboard so what you do with the hard drives wont matter. you should be good.
