Two days after the shocking news broke that Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna, more details have emerged on the situation.
It has been reported that Police officials have confirmed that the woman that assaulted by Chris Brown, was Rihanna. It is also believed that Brown hit the RnB singer with his fists and also bit her after an altercation between the two, which took place at around 12:30 am on Sunday February 8th. The singers were meant to perform at the Grammy’s, however neither turned up.
Police have also confirmed that they arrived on the scene after a 911 call from a woman who identified Brown as the attacker. Brown left the scene before police arrived. It is also reported that Rihanna was hospitalized. She is alleged to have a split lip, bruising to the face and major contusions on both side of her face. She also has bite marks present on several fingers and one of her arms. Rihanna refused treatment but let police take photos. Rumors that Rihanna was the one who called the police have been denied by police who say the call was from someone nearby who heard screams.
Chris Brown turned himself in to authorities and was booked on suspicion of making a criminal threat. He was however released later on in the night on $50,000 bail.
A district attorney spokesperson says that Los Angeles Police have presented a case against Chris Brown, however county prosecutors have asked for further investigation. The LAPD have confirmed that additional charges may be filed against Chris and the arraignment for his case is expected to take place March 5th.
In related news, Wrigley has issued a statement saying that it has suspended its ad campaigns featuring Chris Brown, who is their gum spokesman. “Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen,” the company said. “However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.”
Rihanna’s grandmother has also spoken out saying, “I don’t want people to worry. Rihanna is fine and she is doing well.”
