yeah i know i can get one off the block, but im tryin to own one legally..its been over 7 yrs since ive been convicted so does anyone know if i could purchase one and get it registered in my name?how thoro of a check do they do cause ive had some background checks for jobs come back with nothing.

Probably depends on the State but in Cali you give up your right. They tell you right away. I'm guessing you ain't a felon.

Well I don't know how your shit went down but it usually goes down like this. Your counsel is told the verdict by the Judge and then your lawyer tells you that you CAN NEVER OWN A GUN AGAIN and the Judge asks you if you understand that you'll be waiving that right. Then the bailiff tosses your ass in jail. At least here they do.

On A Side Note, My Brother Got A Misdemeanor(SP?) Brandishing A Weapon In Public Charge Which Only Carried A Probation Sentence, Also Took Away His Gun Rights For 10 Years, He Has Since Been Fightin His Case But Since The DA Couldnt Prove His Intent Was Malicious He Had Years Cut Off His Gun Restriction
