When you buy a beat from someone what format do you prefrer. A midi file, a wav file. Should the beat be broke down track for track or is a two track master o.k? What bit rate for wav files? Also how do you usually handle the payment?

it all depends on who you sellin to. Camron's not gonna buy a 2 track(beat on cd) audio. They gonna want you to track it. But around the bay most kats are doing two track right now. I gotta track it tho.

Im buyin the beats not sellin them but i think i would prefer them all tracked out for me so if at a latter date i wanna do a REMIX it would be alot easier. I am just now learning about OMF but if i am understanding the concept correctly it should be very usefull.
as far as payment goes how do yall do it? by the way can anybody recomend some producers in the $500 to $1000 range?

Definetly WAV, or every form its in, maybe even down to the raw. Buying beats, or working with other producers is the only way to go if you want your album to be diverse, and solid in all areas, it starts with the beats. D-Sane, I'll be giving you a shout in the future for some production, most definetly.

omf 16 bit, 24 bit or 32 floating.

sample rates 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96. If I have to use a sample rate besides 44.1 I will use 88.2 not 96.

I multi-track the song. That way each instrument gets it's own track/channel and sound quality is not compromised. All files are recorded at -3 db (EXACT) 0 db OR just below 0. Certain beats must be sequenced MY way or I wont slang it. Certain beats are tracked out with each instrument looped for 4 or 8 bars. When I do it that way you can sequence and arrange however you want. I usually give the customers a rough mix on how the shit should sound and WHERE the instruments should be panned. I'm very picky about that shit.

What type of production are you looking for?

METAL? I GOT THAT

METAL/RAP? I GOT THAT.

CLUB/COMMERCIAL SHIT? I GOT THAT.

MOB (BAY) OR CLASSIC WEST SHIT? I GOT THAT.

HORROR/CINEMATIC SHIT? I GOT THAT.

R&B? I CAN DO THAT BUT I PREFER NOT TO.

Holla at me if you are interested. Package deals availiable all rates negotiable. LIVE INSTRUMENTATION ALSO.

Live drums? GOT THAT.

LIVE BASS? GOT THAT.

LIVE LEAD? GOT THAT.

LIVE ACOUSTIC? GOT THAT.

LIVE KEYS? GOT THAT.

That way you can spice it up. Your album wont sound like a "KEYBOARD" album.

I WOULDNT GIVE A FUCK IF A WHOLE CD WAS MADE WITH A 50 DOLLAR KEYBOARD. IF THE BEATS ARE BANGIN AND THE FLOWS ARE TIGHT,AND WORTH LISTENIN TO,THATS ALL THAT COUNTS. IMO

Alot of it is obviously, but what is a sound if it isn't real? A real string, a real note from a live piano, a real sound, you can't go wrong with that because its real and natural. Thats what I love about music.
