It's always a team that hasn't played the bears in several years, come in thinking Hester is no big deal.

What's funny is that is wasn't just twice, it was three times. If you remember in the 4th quarter, after Hester already has two TD's, denver punted directly to him AGAIN and chicago set up a wedge (which was crazy) but luckily for denver a couple of the players in the wedge were back to far and hester couldn't catch the ball, landed a lil in front of him and he had to fall on it. Might have been 3 TDs

When the Seahawks played the Bears, they kept it away from Hester and the Bears AVG starting position was incredible, much better than the 40. But obviously it is always w/in your control to give it to them at the 40 if you just kick it out of bounds, which I'm assuming you wanted them to do as opposed to the squibs that didn't work at Qwest Field.

Question for people, I don't know the answer : Can a receiving team refuse the ball at the 40 and instead request the team to rekick from the 25 or 20???

DID SHANAHAN'S HATRED OF THE RAIDERS COST THE BRONCOS?

As the folks in Denver try to figure out why coach Mike Shanahan opted to kick and punt to Devin Hester, who took two to the end zone in Chicago's overtime win over the Broncos, we think we know why it happened.

The Broncos kicked to Hester because the Raiders kicked to Hester.

There's still a high degree of animosity between these two franchises. Shanahan coached the Raiders in the 1980s, and was abruptly fired during the 1989 season. Former Raiders de facto G.M. Mike Lombardi now works for the Broncos for free as he tries to get back by Oakland for the 2007 season. And it's believed that the Raiders are squatting on running backs LaMont Jordan and Dominic Rhodes in part because owner Al Davis doesn't want either of them to land in Denver.

So when Raiders coach Lane Kiffin decided to kick to Hester earlier this month and it worked (even though the Bears won the game), there was no way that Shanahan and the Broncos were going to avoid him.

In a game that's so complex, sometimes it's pretty simple.

It's a simple Special Teams game plan when facing Hester and the Bears:

1) When punting, angle the punt out of bounds.

2) On kickoffs, swive kick it to one of the closer players and usually a FB or TE will end up falling on the ball.

I would rather the lousy Bear's offense have descent field position, than to let the Bear's A+ Special Teams beat me! I agree, that all reflects on coaching!!!
