Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday (Dec. 5) for running the infamous drug organization the Black Mafia Family (BMF).

Flenory pled guilty to multiple counts of charges of running a criminal enterprise and conspiracy to laundering monetary instruments.

The conviction is the latest chapter in the investigation of the Black Mafia Family, which ran an interstate drug ring that sold thousands of kilos of cocaine a week, while raking in over $270 million dollars in cash, real estate and jewelry.

According to court documents, Flenory was accused of serving as a supervisor and organizer of the BMF operation, which utilized more than 50 people to distribute the cocaine in Detroit, Michigan, Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, between 1990 and 2005. Through his dealings, Flenory reaped millions.

Court documents show that he used the profits from his sales to "purchase real estate, vehicles and jewelry in order to promote the drug-trafficking activities of the organization."


The BMF was investigated for over 15-years, before Flenory and his brother Terry "Southwest T" Flenory and dozens of others were arrested late last year and throughout the course of 2007.

His brother has not been sentenced as of press time.

them dudes were being investigated for over 15 years, that's patience damn. Yeah I agree they thought they were untouchable for awhile there. Jay Z andYoung Jeezy are affiliated with them also.

CL Senior Writer Mara Shalhoup has inked a deal with St. Martin’s Press for a book on the Black Mafia Family, based on her award-winning series of stories published over the past 12 months. She has also sold a movie option to Grand Hustle Films, the production company owned by rapper T.I.
“To be able to expand this series into a book is an awesome opportunity,” Shalhoup says. “I also think the story couldn’t be better suited to the big screen. Both St. Martin’s Press and Grand Hustle Films have expressed much enthusiasm for the project, and I’m grateful for their interest.”
Two brothers — Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory — have pleaded guilty to being the BMF kingpins.
Meech — who was a well-known player on the Atlanta club scene — pleaded guilty Nov. 19 in Detroit to laundering drug money and running a continuing criminal enterprise. His brother, who was based in Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to the same charges a day later. The pleas ended a 15-year investigation into their role in the $270 million multistate cocaine ring that BMF was accused of operating.
To date, more than 150 alleged BMF associates have been charged in more than a dozen indictments in at least seven states. BMF associates have been arrested in connection with at least three violent attacks in Atlanta, including the 2004 shooting in the parking lot of a Midtown club with which Fleming “Ill” Daniels is charged. Daniels is BMF’s alleged third-in-command.
What’s more, Mayor Shirley Franklin’s ex-son-in-law, who was sentenced last year to life in prison for cocaine charges related to BMF, is under investigation for his alleged role in the murder of his co-defendant and the co-defendant’s girlfriend. The mayor’s daughter is also being investigated for what she might have known about her then-husband’s cocaine ring.
Shalhoup expects a publication date of late 2008 or early 2009 for the book.

30 years....well, that's what you get when you get caught...i bet his brother is gonna get close to the same...

like gas said though, if they're flaunting their shit like they're ballers before they put out music and shit liek that, that's just plain dumb. that's like in goodfellas where they rob that place and get tons of money and people come in with fur coats or cadillacs or whatever...

rumor has it, that when they raided meech's "estate" not home but "estate" that when they got to the bottom of the home there was door which lead down underground to another door. opening the door they found a alligator filled moat, with another door across it. once inside it was the "stash spot" which was guarded by various wild animals as well. the bmf is no joke. and big meech is the creator of "making it rain" in the clubs. he is overly respected in the south as a triple o.g.
