Best HD Camcorders for a good price?

Anybody know of any good deals or good spots to buy a HD Camcorder whats the best brand? Been looking at this sony one so far.

gotta be either the canon hv20 or hv30 if you can find one at a store.. because the hv40 just came out not too long ago.

if youre gonna be using it alot.. dont get internal HD, get mini dv.. thats the best format still used today.

the most ideal ones are the cams that take SD cards....(or even internal flash memory) no importing of video needed, just pop in the SD card and drag the video files onto your computer or editing software

It's pretty damn nice! I just looked up some video samples...check em out. BUT....the last link i posted is a walkthrough of the features and buttons and I noticed it doesn't take SD cards, it takes Memory Stick Duo, Sony's format of flash memory. So if you dont mind using that type of storage go for it.

get urself a firewire/firewire card if you dont already have that too.. you can transfer your videos to edit them or just upload them way faster.

I have the canon hv. I use sony HD mini dv. quality is NICE on a hdtv.

if he gets a camera that takes SD or Memory Stick Duo, he dont need firewire....just a memory card reader or USB cord to transfer the movie files.
