Of the ones I've actually bought so far...

PSD--U AIN'T HEARD OF ME?--the man with the smooth, blues singer-sounding voice tops his ALL I WANT CD from last year (which was tight to begin with)! Like Jay Tee, PSD gives you what you expect, but switches things up a little each time, too.

T-Nutty--LAST OF THE FLOWHICANS--he can go from rapping in a more "conventional" style to doing a more rapid-fire, Young Droop (who introduces one of the tracks) flow. Nutty Nut's versatile with his topics, too, which you can't say about most rappers these days.

Brotha Lynch--LYNCH BY INCH--the production was unsettling at first, but as with LOADED, give it a few listens and you realize how artistically dope it is. Lynch has a mind like no other rapper I've heard. Hell, I even dig "Suicide Note", even if IS an interpolation of Led Zep's "Stairway to Heaven!"

JT The Bigga Figga--PROJECT POETRY--SOMETHING CRUCIAL and HUSTLE RELENTLESS were cool, but were more like compilations than JT solos. Here, JT is (basically) who you get from beginning to end, and he's more thoughtful with the lyrics than he's been since DWELLIN IN THE LAB. This (and The Gamblaz' new one) bodes well for Get Low's future...can't wait for THE MAIN EVENT!

151--CODE OF THE STREETS--I always dug his cameos, but didn't expect 151 to come as versatile as he did! From flossin' to jackin' to partyin' to reflecting on his life, 151 has grown into a well-rounded artist. And the guests compliment 151 instead of overshadowing him. If he keeps this up, 151 will join the "legend" ranks that C-Bo, Killa Tay, Lunasicc (his AWOL period stuff), and Marvaless have with AWOL heads (like me). Chop it, 151! Chop it real good!

PEACE!
