anyone check this out yet?
We've been using this thread.

I'm not feeling how they used hella well known samples, like stuff big bay area rappers like the mob figaz have used on popular songs already. Then he used the same exact beat as Joe Blow did on a song.

Not a good look on your first big solo, especially after all the hype.

Does anyone know what song used the same sample as the song with quinn?

nvm I found it

I am pretty sure this is a compilation, breh... look @ all the features.

having a feature on damn near every song = COMPILATION.

9. I Can Make You Rich (Feat. Feeze) 4:02
10. Fed Hot Phone Line 3:41

imo this guy cant hold his own as artist and is a leech until he drops a "REAL" solo album with just him on all the songs with maybe one or two features.

thsi shit is no different then messy marv : chipped up and draped up, yukmouth : united ghettos of america, layzie bones : mo thugs compilations. this isnt no solo album and b.a.r.t needs to quit lying to this guy and keep it real.

^2 wrongs don't make a right. Philthy himself isn't exactly known for murdering tracks or having the best verses on songs. Him and berner are very similar in that regard, both have a gang of features on their "solo" albums and honestly it's probably for the best as they just aren't that great. Look at someone like J. DaVinci who literally had no featured rappers on his debut, only 2-3 features by singers for hooks. That is a true solo album(great one at that).

I have yet to listen to it, but I've seen some albums that say, "featuring" on the track list and the featured artist is simply on the hook with the main artist carrying all 3 verses. Just stating...

I personally don't want to hear a 100% solo from any artist, or with a limited amount of features. I mean, that's cool if you have 10 songs with 3 features, but anything else is overkill IMHO.

Same goes for production, I don't want to listen to a rap album with an artist who still thinks old school and feels he only needs one producer.

Some classic albums have had plenty of features on them. I personally think we as fans sometimes disregard of the fact that there is a feature, when the main artist and featured artist are famous.

Again, I have yet to listen to this album, but I think it all boils down on how well Berner carries himself throughout the whole album.

Just my early 2.

a solo album with more features than the track list.after all the networking with those colab albums i expected berner to really get down on his own two feet and prove he can make a real solo album.

The best song on the album is track 7 produced by Big Krit. It stands out and it isn't a soul sample beat! No surprise there. There's a couple other decent songs, but most of it sounds uninspired. Soul sample beats are really played out, especially when they're just 4 bar loops over and over again for 4 minutes straight. Once again just cause a beat has a sample in it doesn't make it tight...Berner's signature sampled sound is really starting to work against him - time to switch it up.

features or not good music is good music. personally, i go thru phases where i aint fucking w/ nobody, lock myself in the studio and bang out an album. yes people call me hella pissed off leaving death threats on my voicemail cause i dont answer their calls but when im in that zone, i got real tunnel vision. i be looking bummy as fuck just making slaps keeping it lit.

but i havent even checked out this album because every cd i have checked out over the past couple of years has been dissapointing on so many levels. i basically stopped listening to new music. lol
