Battle Royale remake? US version?

i read somewhere that theyre making a US version of this movie, set to come out in like 2006 or seomthing...i thought i read about it on here, but cant find anything. can anyone confirm?

Please! i will never happen.. School Kids killing School Kids.. yeah that would go over well.. Then after the movie would come out, they'd blame that for any type of school violence.. If it did happen, they would really have to change the story around and it would be a lame ass remake.

But yeah they should not remake Battle Royale. It would be total garbage like every foreign movie that gets remade in America. Battle Royale is tight enough just the way it is.
