Im sure Bla got paid for the project but I want to share my view on this because I feel its releases like these that encourage bootlegging and we all know how we feel about that.
If Bla was paid for this and was told how this project was going to be handled then it was a bad move on his part unless that money was good becuase if he gained some fans from his last release he may have lost them with this. When you 1st look at the CD you you see his picture on there and his name in huge letters. Look at the spine and it says B-Legit - Word Pimpin.
OK, its a Bla release. WRONG. Look a little closer and in the background there is a picture of 2 other rappers. Their names in small white letters. IT also says in yellow "Featuring" right above the word B-Legit. So theres the catch. Even though you are lead to believe its a Bla album it really is not. I started listening, 1st track has Bla but after that maybe 2 more songs out of 13 he actually spits a verse. Every so often he says something in the background of songs but thats it.
I was expecting to hear him on every track but that was not the case. This to me was a HORRIBLE release. Im glad I didnt pay full price. Why do people do this, in particular this label? They did the same with Mac Dre "Mind of a hustler....." If you are trying to get your artists names out, put their name on the project and focus on them not someone else. If anything they could have said something along the lines of "B-Legit presents"
Was anybody else as upset about it as I was? What do you feel about releases like these? Maybe this was all agreed with Bla, I dont know, but I was dissapointed...
