Im gonna be honest. I wasnt a fan of AWOLF at first. I heard the battles and all that freestyle hype. I heard a couple mix tape tracks of his and some older shit on Kazzaa. But nothing moved me to much outside of the given, Dope Emcee. But I have been doing online promo for him for about a month now and finally got a chance to listen to his project. It can only be described as a breath of fresh air. In the age of whose selling what, how much money is around your neck and how many bitches are on ur arm he manages to step outside the box for a minute. Lyrically untouched. Its My personal opinion and he will tell u different. He doesnt think he is the best at all. He isnt looking to be the best. He just loves the music. I think some of these artists are lacking a genuine love for Hip Hop. The microphone in 2004 are like transformers in 86. Everybody wants one for christmas. Everybody wants to rap. But nobody has shit to say. Personally I am proud of how far the bay has come. We dont need major deals. We have already succeeded in the sound of music. We have come along way since THE EARLY 90'S and most of our growth has come in the passed year and a half. But we do need to realize that at one time we had a sound of our own. Now we have a sound that has been created by radio. A mainstream sound yes, but a unique sound? Only in some cases. I see these threads asking what the hottest album of 04 is. And its a couple albums from being over. Turf Talk just released today. Frontline in Oct. AWOLF in November. These 3 albums alone will definately shit on everything to date. Arent u cats tired of buying an album because of the single. Then finding out that every track sounds like they remixed the single (Keak da Sneak) Thats all we have come to see here. Concepts lacked and Lyrics missing. You dont have to be a spaced out emcee to be hip hop. Or a street cat to be hip hop. All points can be gotten across creatively and not just by shaking ur ass and watching urself. The production in the bay has been stepped up. Lyrics are the same. But i know of 3 albums coming that are about to make everybody step up there GAME!

about your thesis!

in the begging of your thesis on awolf i thought it was good. then you went on to radio and the three artists that are coming out are on the radio. you mentioned three (3) albums when their should have been four (4) Mr. Doctor "Documentary" Sept. 21st, 2004 this should curve your enthusiasm and put in a firm more solid direction. your were heading 180 degrees now your in the overall direction of 360 degrees with Mr. Doctor being added to your release list.

Secondly: who is awolf signed with?

you are messin shit up for your boy a-wolf with bad promotion. The (Keak) remark was what you shouldn't have done. Even if you have your opinion. As a promoter online or whatever all you gotta do is hype your man and never diss anyone else to hype your man. especially out here man.

Youre right, 6 posts doesnt really allow me to have an opinion on this board. But 16 years of living and breathing hip hop does. My opinion on Keaks album is just my opinion. You might think it was the most creative shit on this planet. You also might think Santa Clause exists, all good. You are entitled to your fantasy world. Only an idiot would drop an album without hypin it. That might be why some of you cats only claim to fame will be on this board. I aint sayin Wolf is the hottest song maker or the dopest emcee. What I am sayin is that his album lyrically is shitting on everything that I have heard this year. If my opinion ruins his chance on selling a few units to upset, insecure artists in the bay. Then so be it! I'll loose my job and some of you will still be on this board praisin the same 5 artists from the bay. Last time I checked, Cellski and AWOLF work out of the same building. So as far as a beef between the 2, not sure. Ya'll shouldnt be tired of people hyping up their artists. Not everyone on here has Von and Scottys Dicks between their lips ;) I gave nothing but love to bay area hip hop. Because I gave an opinion on one particualr artist shouldnt upset anyone. I have my bay fav's (Quinn, Jacka,Lock,Zman etc.) Ya'll have yours to. So next time, stop and take a deep breath first before you respond in such an ignorant way.

your words speak for themselves....now you should stop and think before you write something you can catch it for. You caught it and now your mad. you've have started the thread and it's been thrown back at you. now your mad.. No I don't think everyone on here believes Keaks album is the most creative on the planet. But you seem to think Awolf's is. Hey...could be. I donno. That wasn't my point. You know damb well what made people on here respond the way we did. Your write up on the thread you started. Not Awolf.......YOU!so look pimpin.....what it do is what it don't.

Anyone who knows promotional posting knows that coming on strong from the gates really isnt a good idea, especially if its someone who is relatively new on the scene....I support doing what we can for are bay artists, but at the same time dont feel it neccessary to do it in a tasteless manner....dont diss Keak, your bound to piss hella folks off including myself...and a lot of these factors on here attend shows...so if you go to promote ya artist at these shows be prepared to back up what you say...I understand ya job, just go about it in a different way..
