AVI. To MPG.

Does anyone know of any programs that I can convert and avi. file to mpg.? Hopefully one that wont take hours and hours to do it in and that won't use all my computer memory.

I dont think AVI to MPG is going to work too well. MPG videos, I believe are uncompressed, while the avi is usually compressed with some codec. That would be kind of trying to take an mp3 and putting it back to an uncompressed wav/cda file.

Your best bet would be to head to www.videohelp.com and ask in the forums. They have tons and tons of products that may be able to do what you ask. But first, ask in the forums. or do a search.

Come on now fellas. Cucusoft AVI to VCD converter is the program to look for.

I converted the 1st season of in living color and made a DVD....i fuckin HATE divx.....and yes, the conversion works VERY well. SVCD has VBR, too.

Your right tadou, DVD/AVI to DVD/VCD works, for burning it, but dont you need other programs to work with it, such as TempEnc, Cinema Craft Encoder? If you want to try it out Skrill, you can get it here: DVD2AVI @ Videohelp.com

Doesn't this only convert AVI to MPEG-1??? And what's MPEG-? for DVD? I know MPEG-1 is for VCD and MPEG-2 is for SVCD.

VirutalDub works Mean. You can get either VirtualDub MPEG-2 or the regular VirtualDub over at Videohelp.com.
