I listen to the Cspan coverage on my computer at work.

The Kennedy vs. Specter lil spat they had before the lunch break today was comedy.

Think he'll pass the committe? How will the votes break down? Straight party lines? Filibuster? Nuke option?

Betcha Finegold's bitchass votes for him with all the other Dems voting against.

he will more than likely vote against Alito

the only Dems off the top of my head that might vote for him are

Ben Nelson--Neb
Joe Lieberman--Conn
Ken Salazar--Col
Robert Byrd--WVG
and any (dont know if there are any) senator from the south

Watched a few hours in the past 2 days. Very interesting.

Schumer and company are acting like twats, and the only ones its reflecting badly on is them. They keep doing the equivalent of asking a potential referee, "If a ball goes over the plate, are you going to call it a strike?" You have no way of knowing or answering this unless you've seen the pitch, especially since the Rule Book says one thing and referees often interpret it in different ways.

They ought to focus on his opinion of past cases and leave it at that. That they cannot do so, and are trying instead to create "GOTCHA!" moments, is indicative of their lack of direction and focus. Any GOTCHA! moments should be found in previous cases....not potential ones.

^^They are not even doing that. They are lobbing white house talking points, political acolades, and softball questions at him. In no way is this process anywhere near telling or prescient questioning. Good old American politics.
