OK I'll keep looking around a bit... but for now:

I personally think North Beach is a great area for tourists to stay in. Within walking distance you have all of Columbus Ave. (which IS North Beach), Broadway (where tons of clubs, strip clubs and bars are located), and Fisherman's Wharf (a must for any tourist). In addition, at the Wharf is Pier 39 which is a cool place to spend an afternoon and FROM Pier 39 leaves the ferry to Alcatraz. If you wanna goto Alcatraz, you gotta reserve your spots in advance cause it gets filled. OH YA... one of the cable car lines departs from the North Beach/Wharf area.

The Wharf and ALL the Piers are located on the Embarcadero... along with Pac Bell Park about 3-4 miles in the other direction. It's a beautiful walk on a nice day or just a MUNI Bus or Light Rail ride away. Oh shit, I also forgot that Chinatown is right next to North Beach. You GOTTA eat at a place called HOUSE OF NANKING on Kearny... OH BOY!

Check out:

The SW Hotel--> http://www.swhotel.com/
---It's right on the corner of Columbus and Broadway-- WHERE IT GOES DOWN. Just up the street is a great authentic Italian deli called Molinari's and next door to it is a great Mediterranean place called Mediterranean Delight.

The San Remo Hotel---> www.sanremohotel.com
---This one should be a little quieter than the other one and different in its style. Depends on what kind of trip you and your lady are trying to have.

I would personally go with the San Remo, but it;s your trip and your coin. I'll reply with another couple places to stay if these don't do it for you. Peace bruh.

If your staying in North Beach your not going to be close to the ballpark. You may need to take a cab and or public transportation.

Noth Beach is a good area for bars, clubs, etc. Pier 39 is a hot spot, especially on the weekends.

You'll like SBC Park, nice spot. I'll see you at the game.

union square is like the downtown. its got the sf shoppong center which is a big mall and then it has all the nice shops. nearby there is the sony metreon. along with all the places to get fits and shit. union square would actually be a good place to go right before the gaqme because it is only a few blocks away from the park.

HAHA...the TENDERLOIN? Shit, my boy and I were staying in Union Square, decided to take a walk in the morning around the city and ended up walking straight through the tenderloin. I've never felt so unwelcome somewhere in my ENTIRE LIFE!! People were just posted all up and down the street, lookin at us like we were a couple insane ass white boys for walkin' through there. Then, we get into the middle of this one block and BAM, some chick pulls out a glass dick and starts hittin' the rock, right in the middle of the street @ 11:30 in the morning...I was like, "DAMN"...lol...

Stay in North Beach or Union Square, cool spots, especially at night there's a lot of people in North Beach.
