My teacher was telling me about a nice restaurant on pier 39 (Ghiradelli Square?) At the end..... Good place to take the Gf too. Anyone know the name of the place I speak of?

Bubba Gumps is at the end of the pier, but its not a 'nice place'.

Ghiradelli Square and Pier 39 are 2 different landmarks.

The cheecake factory is bomb but you can't make reservations and will end up waiting an hour for a table on the weekend. Go to the "Franciscan" on pier 40, it's right there, EXCELLENT food, pricy, but you sound like you're ready to drop dough so you can't go wrong there.

Yeah the one you are talking about IMO is overpriced and overrated. It is more of a tourist spot for people that are visiting and see a nice restaurant over looking the water. There are a ton of classy upscale and nice places in the city.

Here's a list to start. Not all these restaurants are going to be what your looking for but reading the reviews can help.

It is not super fancy but real nice and real good food and if you sit up stairs in the balcony type section it is nice.
