Actually, had USC won that game the Pac-10 would've received that award they give to the conference that does the best in all the bowls. Only Pac-10 team that had lost up until that point was Oregon. But USC lost and ruiined it for the Pac, but it's not that big a deal b.c to the rest of the nation, it's the Pac-9 plus USC anyway, the outcome of USC doesn't affect folks perceptions at all of the conference as a whole.
