LET ME GIVE YA A LIL BACKGROUND INFO FOR ALL THE NEWER PEOPLE THAT NEVER SEEN ME POST IN HERE.....I AM NOT FROM THE WEST BUT WAS BROUGHT UP ON IT AND HAVE AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF WEST COAST MUSIC,INCLUDING MOST ALBUMS E 40 EVER DID BUT THE LAST ONE....SO IM NOT SOMEONE JUST COMIN IN HERE TO HATE OR TALK DOWN ON ANYTHING...THIS IS JUST SOMEONES OPINION THAT USED TO LIVE OFF WEST COAST MUSIC....


I NORMALLY DONT CHECK OUT MUSIC BEFORE IT COMES OUT AND NEVER WATCH BET OR MTV....BUT I RAN ACROSS THE VIDEO FOR TELL ME WHEN ON MY SPACE THE OTHER DAY....BEING THAT 40 IS CHILLIN WITH LIL JON EVERYONE KNOWS HES GONNA GET SOME SERIOUS PROMOTION PUT BEHIND THE NEW ALBUM,SO I CHECKED OUT THE VIDEO.....

I KINDA LIKE THE VIDEO BUT HONESTLY DONT SEE THIS SONG BRINGING ANYTHING BACK TO THE WEST COAST OR THE BAY....I THINK THE SINGLE WILL FLOP IN THE SOUTH AND EAST COAST....REALLY TO ME IT SEEMS TO BE A POOR CHOICE FOR A FIRST SINGLE....A SMART BUSINESS MAN WOULD HAVE PUT SOMETHING WITH LIL JON ON THE HOOK BEHIND ONE OF HIS BEATS.....HONESTLY TO ME THE BEAT SOUNDS LIKE A NEPTUNES THROWAWAY BEAT.....IT DOESNT REP THE WEST....I DONT KNOW WHO PRODUCED IT BUT I DOUBT IT WAS LIL JON OR THE NEPTUNES....I WILL SAY 40 SHINED LYRICALLY ON THE TRACK....MADE ME BREAK OUT THE OLD 40 WATER CDS.....I ALSO THINK KEAK WAS A BAD CHOICE TO APPEAR ON THE TRACK.....KEAK HAS NO APPEAL TO THE MAINSTREAM CROWD OR THE NATIONWIDE OLD SCHOOL CROWD LIKE ME....PEOPLE FROM OTHER REGIONS THAT GREW UP ON 40 WOULD RATHER SEE SOMEONE LIKE B LEGIT ON IT INSTEAD.....KEAK KINDA BROKE UP THE BALANCE OF THE SONG....I LIKE KEAK BUT HES JUST NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR THE SONG.....ALL THAT ADDED TOGETHER MAKES THE SONG AVERAGE AT BEST....I BELIEVE THE SONG WILL DISAPPEAR QUICKLY FROM THE NON WEST COAST STATIONS THAT EVEN BOTHER TO PLAY IT.....IT REALLY DOESNT HAVE MUCH APPEAL OUTSIDE THE BAY AREA....I HATE MAINSTREAM MUSIC AS MUCH AS THE REST OF YOU GUYS BUT ISNT THE POINT OF THIS SINGLE TO GET 40 AND THE BAY BACK IN THE LIMELIGHT???IM A DIE HARD FAN OF 40 BUT IF I ONLY JUDGED THIS NEW ALBUM BY THE FIRST SINGLE I WOULDNT BUY IT AT ALL.....

i duno man its really picking up momentum on the singles charts which means it IS getting radio burn and if people dont wanna hear it it aint gonna get played so far this is 40's biggest single in TEN YEARS. so it is a success already!

man you should see how some South cats be hatin on other boards,they was talkin like the beat was on some South shit sayin we bit but only after they already knew Lil Jon produced it.Good to know not all folks aint thinkin the same as them cuz I know that shit dont sound South at all.

we shouldnt need to change our sound to be accepted, we should be accepted for what we are and offer, and if people never accept it they never should, and if they do we will revolutionize the game entirely. if they cant get down with tell me wehn to go, how are they ever gonna appreciate other uniqe artists like turf talk and sounds like that that dont fit a mold theyve ever been used to before. if its meant to be it will, if not we keep the sound to ourselves like we been doin.

yo... im a really reply to that very first post.

1. you don't see this bringing anything back to the bay area? you are crazy, this record is up 274 more plays a week than the last week and at that recieves an audience of over 75 million people hearing it a week according to mediabase which is a monitoring company that tracks records to understand the status and growth of a record. are you in houston right now? e 40 is not there but this record is so huge out there as well that he might as well be by spirit. turn on your radio, you hear tell me when to go every hour on both stations that to me is the south reacting.

2. poor judgement of a first single? ive heard and have the whole album, i respect your opinion but since you said a good business man does this and that, wait a minute... are you in the record business? this record has 7 lil jon beats, 5 rick rocks, 1 droop e, 1 kanye and a few others... now have faith in the ambassador that it doesnt end here. record labels go in the order of this - SET UP SINGLE, FOLLOW UP SINGLE, FOLLOW UP SINGLE, then FINALE. It only gets bigger from here. 40 is recieving airplay from markets he never gets airplay in, at that on mtv, mtv2, bet within the first weeks of this. now think about the last singles hes had, one night stand, gasoline... did you see this much of an impact. since you are outside the bay, obviously its traveling since you found out about it.

i dont think you are a hater at all, i just think you are a person that doesnt know what they are talking about. no worries and no love lost, just please... look at the bigger picture my man. trust me, wait till you hear the next 3 singles... both the nation and the bay area will be happy...

also be on the lookout... e40 and lil jon got a dvd coming out... called the hype about hyphy. we all complained about how no one wanted to fuck with the bay area, then we credible people come to the table or cats that can help us, we complain... even if its small, itll create more than just an image, itll open oppertunities for more people down the line. these smaller labels will become bigger labels, more job ops, more people that can really make decisions. i am sure that bme and so so def weren't always this huge everything starts somewhere. when kris kross dropped jump jump we werent knowing nothing about crunk yet, but it brought a look to the atl and kept on bringing looks to the atl to create a movement weather it was crunk or not. it was all set up. now all these labels all have staffs of like 80 - 100 people under them, at that people who came from la and ny and did their thing to help propell their crunk movement today. its nuts how it works. 1 luv yall.

man, i aint like a huge keak fan, and never really could get into his albums, but i really thaught he came harder than 40 on the track.......not anything really lyrically impressive, but his verse was more catchy........"im off that 18 dummy juice"......
