I was wonderin, you know how OG versions of rap albums from the 90's can sell for a grip on ebay and amazon. Well how long do you think it will last? In other words, I have hundreds of out of print albums from back in the day, most still in perfs condition. Most i bought for 15 bucks a long time ago but Ive seen some of em go for hundreds on ebay. So are they like comic books and will they keep getting more valuable as more times passes, or will the people who like this type of music just all grow old and no one will give a shit in another 10 years and they'll all be worth nothing? just curious what you all think.

i wonder the same thing. The amount of people still interested in those albums is getting smaller by the day. Its not like comic books where a kid gets into it and wants to get all the old issues. You had to grow up in that era to appreciate the old albums.
I dunno, maybe someone like MrNick or cashflow can drop some knowledge

I think if theres some cd's that youre going to sell, do it now while you still dont want them, and someone still wants to buy them. While the longer you wait the price may go up, the amount of people looking for it is going to go down, and the chance to sell will get slimmer and slimmer.

Yeah I bought Gangsta Pat "Deadly Verses" for a bill then like 3 months later it was re-released. Price dropped pretty big at the time. Don't know about now though.

yeah all the people who grew up on bay rap and are willing to pay for it is getting slim. in another ten years most of those fans will be in the mid 30's-40's and by that time they aint going to want to drop $100+ on a old gangster rap bay area cd. i mean you might find a couple of people but not nearly as much now. i guess only time will tell.

those 90s CDs wont appreciate like art does over time. there's a cap on them. just look on Ebay and the same CD will reach a low and a high. you see the same CD and it might get higher than the highest high, but slightly higher.

the max price will stay pretty consistent and that is what you can expect over time, unless, like people said there is a repress done or somehow the CDs become scarce over time, and disappears off the map of the earth, which i doubt.

so a CD that sells for 100 and is consitently selling for 100 on ebay, is more than likely to stay at 100 for years. i doubt like it would shoot up to 200. it doenst make sense, unless you got some booger idiot buying it cuz he aint know better, and doesnt realize that it goes consistently for 100, and he can wait for another auctioon to appear.

but if it is a one of a kind CD that is ultra-limited like CDs tapes being sold outta trunks of cars, than, i can expect it to soar since its ultra premium.

i wonder tho, if like in sports when a player dies, the card goes up. im not sure if this applies to CDs tho.

i like your question, good one.
