The Chicago Bears signed former 49ers defensive lineman Anthony Adams to a four-year deal. San Francisco was uninterested in re-signing Adams, a second-round pick out of Penn State in the 2003 NFL draft.

Adams had 97 tackles and 37 assists in 58 games over four seasons.

The only remaining first- and second-round picks that remain from former general manager the Terry Donahue era are tackle Kwame Harris (1st, 2003), guard Justin Smiley (2nd, '04) and cornerback Shawntae Spencer (2nd, 'o4).

This offseason, the 49ers have signed cornerback Nate Clements, safety Michael Lewis, defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin, wide receiver Ashley Lelie and linebacker Tully Banta-Cain as unrestricted free agents. They've lost tight end Eric Johnson (Saints) and Adams (Bears) in unrestricted free agency.

Losing Adams is goin to sting.....Id say that if the Bears get a good first round pick offensively and can rebuild some positions, they will be a crucial team!
