I was only like 4 at the time it happened, so I don't remember much. All I remember is all the cars in Portland were covered with ash. There was ash all over the streets about as deep as the curbs. I remember seeing jars and jars of ash that family, friends and neighbors stored. Any of you remember those Mt. St. Helens pens that were popular right after that were clear and full of ash from the mountain?
