There seems to be discrepancies about who founded L.A. The Spaniards were not American Citizens, they don't count. It is possible some of them were MOORS.They were Black. When the Mexican War subsided, the 1849 Gold Rush brought many people to our celoved state. Of the 44 who founded the CITY of Los Angeles,26 of them were of AFRICAN ANCESTRY. Therefore we have a vested interest in this town and country. WE built this country. The first person to die in war in this country was Crispus Attucks a BLACKMAN.
Cut it out.WE have more spending power than any others here. That is good and bad, thats a whole other thread. This is to let some of you Half HIStory studying young kids know.Let yall tell it, we just got here.PROVE ME WRONG!

...first off...they werent spaniards that were here, the spaniards had long been booted out of power in mexico...so they were mexicans that were here...they were legitimately in power until the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848, which gave the southwest to the united states...the place was called Los Angeles well before that treaty and there was a legitimate government in place with mayors and all kind of shit...so I don't see how you say Los Angeles was "founded" after the Treaty or the war or whatever...

...theres history out there that speaks well for the pride and accomplishments of blacks, but you're reaching far with this one...with tryranasauras rex arms at that...

actually i got it confused with the civil war

"The Union Secretary of War issued a statement:

"This Department has no intention at the present to call into service of the government any colored soldiers."
The need for able-bodied fighting men soon led individual states to swear into the military separate REGIMENTS OF ALL BLACK TROOPS. Other Blacks found acceptance as volunteers in semimilitary or military support positions. Not until August of 1862 did Blacks receive the endorsement of Congress to serve in the Civil War. "Congress revoked the militia laws banning Blacks" from serving in the Union Army. Soon afterward, Abraham Lincoln issued on January 1, 1863, THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION, "freeing all slaves in areas still in rebellion."
The Emancipation Proclamation opened the door full-fledged for Blacks to participate in the Civil War."

I thought blacks were not allowed to fight in wars a long time ago?
Blacks were put on the frontline a long time ago, they were known as Buffalo Soldiers, read about it. Eventually some were told to fight in the war to gain their freedom.
