i dont fuck with xp but this might work:

Hello! It has come to my attention that Windows XP *might* cease to
function (or you might not be able to go to Windows Update -- or you
might
have to activate Windows) when you install Service Pack 1 (to be
released in
a few months) if (and only if) you installed it using the CD-KEY
"FCKGW-RHQQ2-YXRKT-8TG6W-2B7Q8"

If you haven't already installed Windows XP, then please use
"DP2RT-3B8YR-4JXWB-HHGPK-82FWB".

I have been testing a different CD-KEY with all of the recent beta
releases
of Service Pack 1 (the latest being build 1081), and have found that
"DP2RT-3B8YR-4JXWB-HHGPK-82FWB" is one that definitely works.

There'll be no more problems if you install Windows XP using the CD-KEY
"DP2RT-3B8YR-4JXWB-HHGPK-82FWB" -- and you can then install Service Pack
1
when it's released without a problem.

This is the very first time that Microsoft has introduced this new
anti-piracy measure, but as usual, it can be defeated ;-)
Unfortunately,
there is no way to simply change CD-KEY's, so you'll have to reinstall
Windows XP and use "DP2RT-3B8YR-4JXWB-HHGPK-82FWB" -- or just follow the
instructions below so you won't have to reinstall.

So whether you downloaded it from
somewhere, or got it from a friend or another dealer...if you installed
it
using "FCKGW-RHQQ2-YXRKT-8TG6W-2B7Q8" then you *must* reinstall or
change
the CD-KEY (regardless of what language it is -- English, French, Dutch,
etc.). Please inform anyone to whom you may have given this CD of these
instructions.

Click the "+" next to "Windows NT"
Click the "+" next to "CurrentVersion"
Click "WPAEvents"

On the right, double click on "OBBETimer" and change at least one digit
of
this value to deactivate windows (ie: double click "71" and change it to
"44" or whatever).

Click "OK" and close the Registry Editor.

Click "Start" at the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen and go to
"Run..."
Type in "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" and click "OK" (or
press
ENTER).

This will bring up the "Activate Windows" window.

Check the option for "Yes, I want to telephone a customer service
representative to activate Windows" and click "Next"

Then click "Change Product Key" (don't enter any information on that
screen)

Type in the new key (DP2RT-3B8YR-4JXWB-HHGPK-82FWB) and click "Update"

At the next window, click "Remind Me Later" and restart your computer.

Click "Start" at the bottom again (to see if everything's okay), right-
hand
corner of the screen and go to "Run..."
Type in "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" and click "OK" (or
press
ENTER).

If you see "Windows is already activated" then break out the Champaign!
You're safe now. Install Service Pack 1 when you get it, and enjoy!!
;-)

If you have done this wrong or you typed in the key incorrectly you will
not
be able to boot. Hit F8 and select "Last known good configuration" to
restore and try again.
