Those people free health care is there for how many months do they gotta wait to get specialized health care, especially since people with health insurance are no doubt cutting in line because they can pay?

I'm not as educated on other places like Australia as I am with the way Canada's works, but people in Canada die sometimes while waiting to get fixed lol
most insurance allows the person to go to private clinics and hospitals while the rest go to the public hospitals so there isnt really any pushing in line. with that being said i have seen articles about people having to wait months for operations but these people still have the option to pay for it and get it immediately or go without. they are still far better off than over there

waiting for months to get heart bypass surgery is better off?

waiting for months to start cancer treatment is better off?

in America you're generally going to get fixed right away or shortly after, even if you go in to debt doing it, i'd rather be in debt then get worse while waiting or be dead lol

like I said earlier I've read about and heard stories of people dying in Canada (don't know much about Australia like I said) while waiting on treatment or surgeries. Don't really get how that's better.

Show up at a hospital and tell them you have no money and no insurance and see how long it takes you to get a non-emergency bypass surgery scheduled.

In countries with single payer systems, if you have the money you are free to go pay for additional care whenever you want. It's not like doctors aren;t allowed to accept private payers. Its just that the government will foot the bill if you cant afford it yourself.

in Canada it's illegal to purchase additional health insurance, so no you can't pay for it yourself. One of the reasons I've seen news stories every year since I was a kid about thousands of Canadians flocking south to the US to get shit taken care of.

and 9 times out of 10 people in the United States who need bypass surgery are generally on medicaid or medicare, a 65 year old man in Canada is gonna sit there for 6+ months. A very rare case of a young person with no insurance -might- get screwed on something like a bypass, but in places like Canada EVERYONE gets screwed.

It just bugs me that people act like we can just flip a switch and magically 330 million people can get free universal health care because Canada or Germany has it, so why can't we?

Once again i'm not defending our system in any way, but at the same time I'm a realest and realize you can't just give 330 million people free healthcare.

I remember when I lived in Germany the healthcare there was pretty dope, but then again Germans are probably the most taxed country in the world lol they are lucky to take home 1/3 of their pay. But they do have great healthcare and easily the best public transportation I've seen in my life.

I still lol at some of the crazy taxes they had there though, they would get a 500 euro bi-annual tax for owning a TV, they would get taxed for every dog they owned. Shit was crazy, but their Government funded services were generally good.
