I remember once we were at some hotel for a family reunion or something, and he had my aunt get him his pint of Jim Beam, and that was around the time I was a budding alcoholic and I wanted it but I remained calm and let him drink it. He then started spouting off about how everything was the Jews fault and at that moment I knew that was my grandfather

yeah man, i'm sorry to hear that as well infinity @infinity , enjoy your time with your gramps...you were fortunate enough to spend time with both grandfathers...i may have mentioned on here that the only grandparent i've spent time with my grandma from my dad's side; i never got to meet my other grandparents...on top of that, she passed away when i was around 9-10. and she moved back to the philippines when i was like 6-7, so even though i have memories of her taking care of me and what not, i didn't get to spend as much time with her as i would have liked to...

I obviously don't know my dad's parents seeing I don't even know my dad lol. My grandfather died when I was 10 and he had Parkinson's as far back as I can remember but I still have a lot of fond memories of time spent with him. My grandma more or less raised me along with my mom and she'll be 92 this summer. She's still going strong and is healthy overall for her age but I think about her passing away more than I should because I know it's in the overall near future even if it's a few years from now. That shit is going to be really hard but that's life I guess.
