While it never really did for me I'm sure it did for a lot of people at one point but I'm guessing by now that's not the case that often anymore. Especially seeing when it started it was fools vouching for people from their camp and/or they thought had talent but then it morphed into established artists being willing to let others use it as a marketing gimmick for a price.
