Too bad for the Golden boy Top Rank fued....

BoxingScene caught up with Brandon Rios and asked him for
his thoughts regarding some of Broner’s recent comments. The
always candid Rios did not hold back as he went on to say
Broner still has not beat any top name fighters and is definitely
no Floyd Mayweather.

“That's stupidness because this mother****r acts like he's on
top of the world. He hasn't really done sh*t. He's fighting little
motherf****s. Midget motherf****s is who he's fighting. He
fights little f**kers that actually hit him without power. Imagine
if I hit him with those type of shots [Rees] hit him with. I think
he would've been done. Me and Lucas Matthysse or even
Danny Garcia would f***ing hurt this guy. He's stupid” Rios
would tell BoxingScene.

“He thinks he's the next Mayweather. He ain't no Mayweather.
It showed that night. With a little midget with no power hit him,
and if that was Mayweather in that situation, that would never
happen. So this motherf****r ain't no Mayweather. He's stupid.”

This would definitely be a fight fans dream fight but the
possibilities of it happening are small considering both men
are with rival promoters. Both men and known to be outspoken
but Rios believes Broner wouldn’t say the things he’s saying if
they were to meet up in person.

“And he asks 'Brandon who?’ If he don't know who the f**k I am
then I think he's in the wrong sport because everybody knows
who I am. So it’s kind of stupid for this guy to say that sh*t. He
looked retarded for saying that. Ignorance, he's a fu**ing
ignorant dude. But you know what, I bet you anything if I go [up
to him] face to face he won't say sh*t. Look what [Robert]
Guerrero did; he bitched him out. Made him look like a bitch in
front of the cameras! 'I still got my 0", that's all he could say. 'I
still got my 0'. What does the 0 matter if you fu**ing [have] not
challenged the best. I want the best. I don't care if I have an 0
or not, I want the best. That's who I want” declared Rios.

While a fight with both men probably won’t happen soon, it
seems like things are already brewing between both. Let’s hope
the Top Rank-Golden Boy feud ends soon so fights like these
could be made.

Marcos Maidana vs. Josesito Lopez on April 20th
February 25th, 2013 | Post Comment

Maidana Lopez Maidana vs. Lopez marcos rene maidana josesito lopez By Dan Ambrose: Welterweight contender Marcos Maidana (33-3, 30 KO’s) is confirming that he’ll be fighting next against Josesito Lopez (30-5, 18 KO’s) on April 20th at a still to be determined venue. Maidana, 29, needs this fight to keep in the running for bigger money fights in the future, one of which could be against WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Maidana has won his last two fights against Angel Martinez and Jesus Soto-Karass in 2012 after having been beaten by Devon Alexander by a 10 round unanimous decision in February of last year. Maidana, now training with Robert Garcia, is becoming more of a boxer/puncher rather than just a pure slugger that he’s been known for being in the past.

He’s trying to get out of the way of shots now by moving his head and fighting in an in and out manner. Maidana is also using his jab much more now than he ever did in the past.

Lopez, 28, was recently negotiating with Golden Boy for a fight against former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan for a fight that would have taken place in April. However, Khan wanted Lopez to boil down to fight him at a catchweight, but Lopez chose not to do that.

Lopez lost his last fight to WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez last year in September in a 5th round TKO defeat. Lopez was knocked down in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds by the younger, stronger and fresher Canelo. In hindsight, it was probably a bad idea for Lopez to take the fight in the first place given that he had fought a grueling battle against former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz just three months earlier in June.

Going from that fight to a tough battle against Canelo with just three months separating the fights was foolish thing for Lopez to do, but the payday obviously was too good for him to say no to it.

Maidana has a big power advantage in this fight, and Lopez is going to have to curb his habit of mixing it up if he wants to win this fight. Lopez won’t be winning a lot of exchanges with Maidana like he did against Ortiz because Maidana won’t back off like Ortiz did. He’ll keep coming forward and forcing Lopez to brawl and that’s not a fight that Lopez can win.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Explains The Money Team Concept

By Ryan Burton
WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs) recently explained the concept and the philosophy of "The Money Team" - which is what Mayweather calls his group of close friends and associates.

"The Money Team is worldwide. You can go to Australia and see The Money Team. You can go to London, which is one my biggest fanbases. One of my goals is to go to the UK and fight. The Money Team just don't consist of cash money....just having a ton of money. It's more like we're a family. There is enough money to go around. It's no different than if you come to Las Vegas [and] you can't get a room in Las Vegas, but me and my people got the connections to get you what you want. All we feel is this, we don't want no money from you, but we only want you to just return the favor when we're in your neighborhood. That's how we work. That's how The Money Team works," Mayweather explained.

The Money Team and/or Mayweather Promotions, also refers to Floyd's growing stable of fighters in his promotional company. Mayweather explained the biggest difference between his company and some of the other promotional outfits.

"These are the things that go on in boxing that people don't know about. That's why they bash me and talk bad about me because I talk about what really goes on in the sport.

If you're telling somebody that they're going to make a certain amount of money [for a fight], that's why you should do. A fighter fights. He gets halfway home, and I'm talking about Ishe Smith. He's got a beautiful family. He gets home and opens up the envelope and looks and the check is only a couple thousand dollars. And that's not right, that's just not right. And what I was able to do and I can't say what anybody else was able to do, because K9's wife is his manager - but my fighter, the challenger, made more than the champion tonight. That has to do with your team. I'm going to the end for someone who's with me and works for me," Mayweather said.

Mayweather will make his Showtime debut, on pay-per-view, on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he defends his title against Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero.

What? What the hell are u talking about? U a hater and your fav exican fighters are haterz then haha. Thats how u sound lol. Dude I dont mind people that want to see Floyd or Broner get beat because thats how they become huge stars. Some people dont like cocky fighters and some do but to hate is one thing. To say u want hi to lose is another thing. The dude is a beast so dont act like all these guys can beat him because they cant. U can wish he would lose but to say Robert punked him, and Rios punked him is just plain stupid lol. Got Em!!

Not all cocky fighters are hated.
Everyone loved Ali. Tyson. etc...
It's just how you carry yourself.
People don't like it when others talk about money, as in the currency.
It makes it look like you weren't raised properly.

Broner is just a little twerp.
I can't believe people really believe in this euro-cutioner.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: "I'M BACK IN HIS CORNER...GUERRERO IS GONNA BE IN TROUBLE"
By Percy Crawford | February 26, 2013

"It does feel good, man, and a lot of people are interested to see how things go now that I'm back in his corner. A lot of people, man. But my son can fight his ass off; ain't no doubt about that. We are gonna be ready... I don't have a problem at all with southpaws either, so Guerrero is gonna be in trouble if he thinks he's kicking my son's ass...We are not taking him lightly and we not playing, man. At the end of the day, my son will still be undefeated," stated world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., who talked about working with his son again, the upcoming May 4 clash with Robert Guerrero, and much more. Check it out!

PC: It's good to see you and your son Floyd working together again; long overdue, but it's here now.

FM: Long overdue, but not too late. That's all that matters, you know Percy, is that it's not too late.

PC: Without a doubt, and honestly, to see what you and your son have been through and to see you guys working together again, I don't think it could ever be too late.

FM: And you right about that, man. Every family out there has their issues. Our issues were just played out on the big stage, but no matter what happened, I have always said, at the end of the day, he's my son and I never want to see anything happen to him, and I meant that, man.

PC: It's gotta feel good to be back working with your son after all of this time. Can you remember the last fight you worked with him?

FM: It does feel good, man, and a lot of people are interested to see how things go now that I'm back in his corner. A lot of people, man. But my son can fight his ass off; ain't no doubt about that. We are gonna be ready. And you say the last fight I trained him…I believe it was Jesus Chavez back in 2001 if I'm not mistaken. It was a long ass time ago, I know that much (laughing).

PC: Obviously the sport of boxing has changed a lot since you last worked with Lil Floyd. Does that change anything as far as what you are trying to do with him?

FM: No, not at all, Percy. Let me tell you something man, a lot of the success my son has had is because he didn't change with times. My son never went and got all these conditioning coaches and all this shit, man. Floyd work hard, he puts the work in when he's in the gym, and he does his road work. His training is old school; he spars. These guys today flipping big ass tires and cutting down trees and shit, man…come on, man. That shit don't have nothing to do with boxing. So it won't change what we are doing at all, man. Not one bit.

PC: Robert Guerrero has been talking a very good game. He took to Twitter on Saturday night and said he hopes Floyd likes cornering fighters because he's going to make it his permanent job. And then he also said something like it's gonna be cool to kick his ass with his dad in his corner, or something like that; I'm paraphrasing.

FM: Now that is what's not gonna happen. I don't have a problem at all with southpaws either, so Guerrero is gonna be in trouble if he thinks he's kicking my son's ass, and like I told the reporter that came into the gym the other day, I don't give a fuck how old his daddy is, if he get out of line, I'll kick his ass. So my son gonna kick "The Ghost" ass and if his daddy get out of line, I'm gonna kick his ass. We are not taking him lightly and we not playing, man. At the end of the day, my son will still be undefeated.

PC: I hear you just got into the gym my man. I will let you do your thing. I appreciate the call though, Big Floyd. It's always good to get a call from you.

FM: It is what it is with us, Percy, you know that. We will talk soon. Take care of yourself now.

I wonder if Floyd is going back to his dad simply because Roger isn't feeling well or because Roger is more offensive minded compared to his father who preaches way more defense. Maybe Floyd getting hit too much for his liking against Cotto makes him want to go back to the early days of using movement etc, maybe in his mind he feels he needs to make a change.

Or I'm looking into it too hard.
