but floyd is bigger than manny and if they fight at 154 that's giving floyd too much of an advantage. Listen, there is no way manny is a junior middleweight. He's pushing it as it is at 147. He's more of a true junior welter fighting at welter.
So its ok for Manny to get advantages against fighters in doin catchweight fights but Floyd cant get an advantage of fighting at 154? Floyd has a belt at 154. Manny needs to go get it right? Got Em!!

anyways are u actually saying if pac floyd happens it should be at 154? that's retarded. they are both welterweights.

Michael Koncz: Floyd Mayweather doesn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao
September 27th, 2012 by Imran Shaukat Khan, newspakistan.pk

Michael Koncz, the advisor of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, believes the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather doesn’t want to fight his man and is simply making excuses in front of the media.

Mayweather, the WBC Welterweight Champion, WBA (Super) Light Middleweight Champion and recipient of the WBC Diamond belt, doesn’t want to give 50-50 split to the Filipino boxing icon as he thinks he is the biggest draw in the sport. However, Koncz has informed BoxingScene.com that Pacquiao is willing to take less money in order to finalize the super-fight.

According to Koncz, Pacquiao is willing to accept 55-45 split in favour of Mayweather and he is also willing for a random drug testing protocol. Koncz said Pacquiao is willing to allow Mayweather to receive top billing in their promotion (posters, ring walks, etc) as well.

“Manny is of the position now he don’t care. If that’s what its going to take to get Floyd in the ring – he would do 55-45 regardless of who wins,” Koncz told Boxing Scene.

Mayweather’s adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, not too long stated that Pacquiao is no one to dictate terms to Mayweather and based on Ellerbe’s recent response, and other factors, Koncz feels the American pugilist is simply not interested to take on Pac-Man.

“I don’t think Floyd wants to fight Manny to be honest with you. I’m not criticizing him one way or the other, whether he should or shouldn’t. My opinion is – I don’t believe he wants to get in the ring with Manny,” Koncz said.

“I don’t believe it’s going to happen. And the the longer it takes to happen it loses some luster with each week that passes by.”

Manny Pacquiao is currently set to take on Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time on December 8 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Well, all said and done, let’s wait and watch how Mayweather responds to the situation.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. confirms he has been approached to train Victor Ortiz

September 26, 2012
By: Chris Robinson

On Wednesday afternoon, I caught up with outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. inside of Johnny Tocco's Boxing Gym in Las Vegas.

Following up on a report by my colleague Richard Powell that Mayweather had been approached to trainer former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, I decided to speak with Senior myself to get his thoughts on all the talk.

True enough, Ortiz and his camp have reached out to Senior about the possibility of them working together and he seems open to the idea.

“His manager told me that Oscar De La Hoya is the one that recommended me to Victor,” said Mayweather, who for several years trained De La Hoya, now president of Golden Boy Promotions, who promotes Ortiz.

“Oscar De La Hoya told him that would be the best thing as far as defense and offense,” Mayweather added.

Ortiz, 25, presently holds a 29-4-2 record with 22 knockouts. The highlight of his career is a thrilling decision victory over former champion Andre Berto in April of 2011 that netted him the WBC welterweight crown.

Ortiz would lose the belt one fight later as he was knocked out in the fourth round by Mayweather’s son Floyd Jr. and he is coming off of a June 23rd loss to Josesito Lopez in which he suffered two fractures on the right side of his jaw while choosing not to come out for the tenth round.

Despite still recovering from surgery for his broken jaw, Ortiz is going to be meeting up with Mayweather in the coming weeks in Las Vegas so that they can engage in a light workout, claims Floyd Sr.

As far as whether or not Mayweather would be willing to travel to Ortiz’s training bases in Ventura, California to work with the dangerous southpaw, he insists that money will be a big factor.

“Everything depends on how I’m getting paid, man,” said Mayweather. “I’m not going to leave where I am at already and go and get lesser money. I can’t do that. It’s what is best for me.”

Several insiders were expecting Ortiz to link up with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, but Mayweather’s words paint a different picture of what may be going on behind the scenes.

This right here is such Bullshit.

Manny is 5'6 1/2 and 148lb on fight night

Mayweather is 5'8 and 151lb on fight night

So you're telling me that 1 and 1/2 inches in height and 3lb lbs in weight means that Mayweather is the bigger guy?? Just stop it..

Im not going to argue who is right or wrong. I think you make decent points. I have already stated BOTH of these fighters are to blame for this fight not taking place. Fact is, if the happens now or later......they BOTH are on the downslide of their careers and NO ONE will see the best Floyd vs. the best Manny......and that is the real fuckin shame in all the political boxing shit.

Also......I was just pointing out that Tony doesn't remember that last year he was blaming Floyd. Or atleast he doesn't want to remember....
No, it's only one side to blame for the fight not happening and that's Top Rank and Manny. They are the only party walking away from the table to fight Clottey or Marquez 3. Blame has tried to make the fight two times and both time he didn't have a fight already booked..

so you're telling me this guy is naturally as big as floyd and should fight at junior middleweight?

When did I say that Manny or Marquez should fight at 154lb.. Again you are just making shit up. Mayweather shouldn't be fighting at 154lb that why winning titles at that weight two times is should get more respect. No catch weight bullshit beating champions at their real weight.

Props: Tony

No Mayweather and Manny should be at 147 but I wouldnt mind 154. I mean Floyd has belts at both weights. Manny come take them. Also Cotto looks good at 154. I dont think he is all that blown up actually. Got Em!!

u just did repeatedly said they were all the same size, clearly they're not. u responded to my post about how they should not be fighting at 154 by saying they are the same size. quite obviously if the fight happens it should be at 147.
I gave you measurement already they are the same damn size it's only 1 and 1/2 inches and 3lbs between them. So I have no idea why you're still acting like it's not true. Manny won his last two belts at catch weights 145lb and 150lb, and Mayweather won all his belts at the champion’s real weight class. Manny uses weight to gain an advantage and Mayweather doesn't that's the difference. All the double talking in the world won't change facts Manny and Mayweather are the same size.
