I didn't expect him to have a good game where he put up high numbers. I got what I expected. This is a new offense, new o-lineman he has to work with and all of those other excuses lol

SEAHAWKS!!!
Thank god nobody has said how clipboard Jesus looked good. Anybody else notice all of his passes were passes that anyone of us could have completed. Nothing down the field, just bull shit short passes. I heard so many people last night saying he looked good. Fuck that, dude hasn't proven shit yet.

Clipboard Jesus was against second and third teams he wasn't running for his life like Jackson was. With this offensive line, if it's going to suck this bad I want Jackson as the starting QB 100% at least he can run and make some plays.

None of this stuff matters if the O-line is going to suck. If it's good and there is a solid running game, ok debate away. If it's going to be terrible doesn't matter if it's Jackson, Jesus or even Matt Hurtback.

RENTON, Wash. (AP)—Former St. Louis linebacker David Vobora(notes) has agreed to a contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle announced the signing on Monday. To clear a roster spot, Seattle released running back Vai Taua(notes).

Vobora was the final pick of the 2008 draft out of Idaho. He went on to play 34 games with St. Louis including 16 starts. Vobora had 97 tackles—including 24 on special teams—during his three seasons with St. Louis.

He’ll add depth to a linebackers group that saw David Hawthorne(notes) shift inside and Leroy Hill(notes) step in at outside linebacker after Lofa Tatupu(notes) was released earlier this month. Vobora was waived by the Rams on Aug. 12.

Balmer Waived

Defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer, a former first-round draft choice of the San Francisco 49ers, has been released by the Seahawks.

Running back Vai Taua was re-signed to fill Balmer’s spot on the 90-man roster. Taua was signed Aug. 14, but then released Monday. The rookie free agent from Nevada rushed for 15 yards on two carries in Saturday night’s preseason home opener against the Vikings.

Balmer was acquired in a trade with the 49ers last August and started 11 games during the regular season and both playoff games because of injuries to end Red Bryant and tackle Brandon Mebane – they were the first starts of Balmer’s three-year NFL career. He finished with 43 tackles, including a career-high eight against the Giants in Week 9.

But Balmer, who did not play against the Vikings, became expendable because the Seahawks signed Alan Branch and Jimmy Wilkerson in free agency last month. Branch is starting as the three-technique tackle, while Wilkerson can play that spot as well as at the five-technique end – the two positions where Balmer filled in last season.

Marcus Trufant takes a steep pay cut

Linebacker Aaron Curry isn’t the only member of the Seahawks who agreed to a reduced contract earlier this month. Veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant has dropped his pay dramatically for 2011, per a league source.

The source says that Trufant’s base salary for 2011 dropped from $5.9 million to $3 million via a new contract signed on August 20.

Trufant can earn it all back based on his performance this year. The new deal contains “not likely to be earned” incentives, which pay up to $2.65 million based on Trufant earning a spot on the Pro Bowl team and making a specific number of interceptions. The other $250,000 can be earned by meeting a specific playing-time threshold.

The rest of Trufant’s contract (base salary of $7.2 million in 2012 and base salary of $8.8 million in 2013, with a $100,000 workout bonus each year) remains unchanged.

Coach Pete Carroll recently dismissed the new Curry contract as having been done “months” ago, even though the deal was signed on August 13. In Trufant’s case, maybe Carroll will say that it was done only “weeks” ago.

HELL YEAH!!! KELLY JENNINGS OFF THE TEAM!

Cornerback Kelly Jennings has been traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Seahawks announced this morning.

In exchange for the former first-round draft choice, the Seahawks will receive defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, a 6-foot-2, 297-pound defensive tackle who was a seventh-round draft choice in 2009.

Jennings started 43 games since being the 31st pick overall in the 2006 NFL Draft, including 14 last season. He leaves the Seahawks after making 200 tackles, with a career-high 55 in 2007, and two interceptions.

McDonald played in eight games for the Bengals last season and had four tackles.
