TODD DUFFEE VS ABE WAGNER TITAN FIGHTING EVENT ON HDNET

Former UFC fighter Todd Duffee (6-1) will take on Abe Wagner (6-3) in his first post-UFC fight at TItan Fighting. The fight will air live on HDNet Jan. 29. mmajunkie.com first reported the news.

Duffee started his mma career with five straight wins all by TKO and was awarded a spot in he UFC. In his UFC debut he knocked out veteran Tim Hague in a record seven seconds and seemed to be on his way to the top of the division.

In his second UFC fight things didn’t go as well, after dominating the first two and a half rounds against Mike Russow, Duffee was stunningly knocked out cold with one punch followed by a hammerfist.

After the loss, Duffee was released by the UFC with rumors floating around that he didn’t get along with the upper management in the UFC.

Abe Wagner most notably appeared on season 10 of the Ultimate Fighter and was eliminated in the first round by John Madsen. Wagner has since been knocked out by UFC fighter Travis Browne in eight seconds of the very first round at VFC 30 – Night of Champions.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Tito Ortiz headlines UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle

A light-heavyweight matchup between Brazilian veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and UFC legend Tito Ortiz (15-8-1 MMA, 14-8-1 UFC) is getting main-event treatment in March.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned that the contest, which originally was thought to be scheduled for UFC 128, instead will headline UFC Fight Night 24.

While officials have not formally announced UFC Fight Night 24, the event is expected to take place March 26 in Seattle and air on the UFC's longtime cable partner, Spike TV.

UFC Fight Night 24 represents the UFC's first visit to Washington. While a venue has not yet been announced for the event, Seattle's 17,000-seat KeyArena would seem a likely target. Currently, the Washington State Department of Licensing's boxing, wrestling and martial-arts division hasn't scheduled the show, according to a department official, but that seems a mere formality.

UFC Fight Night 24, which was first reported by MMAjunkie.com, precedes the debut episode of "The Ultimate Fighter 13" on Spike TV, which airs four days later on March 30.

Ortiz teased the change overnight on his official Twitter account.

"Big news," Ortiz stated. "I'm not fighting in New Jersey. But I am still fighting 'Lil Nog' in March."

Following a recent UFC 121 decision loss to Matt Hamill, Ortiz faced an uncertain future in the UFC. The former champ and "The Ultimate Fighter 3" coach is now winless (0-4-1) in his past five fights, and he hasn't posted a win in more than four years (Ken Shamrock in October 2006). However, the fights have come against some of the division's top fighters, including Chuck Liddell, Rashad Evans (draw), Lyoto Machida, Forrest Griffin and Hamill.

Nogueira, the twin brother of former UFC champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, recent suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Ryan Bader in a key UFC 119 bout. Prior to the defeat, the PRIDE vet owned a seven-fight win streak, which included UFC wins over Luiz Cane (which earned a "KO of the Night" bonus) and Jason Brilz ("Fight of the Night").

Ortiz should win this... its a smaller cage (im pretty sure) Nog will stay in front of him and try and strike and Tito should control him with his wrestling... im not a huge Tito fan.... but i would like to see him win.... shit last time he won i was like 20 lol

Nick Diaz vs. Cyborg Santos Signed for Jan. 29th Strikeforce

Nick Diaz's next fight won't be against Jason "Mayhem" Miller after all.

Instead, the Strikeforce welterweight champion has agreed to defend his title against Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos on Jan. 29 in San Jose, Calif. Sources close to Strikeforce confirmed the booking with MMA Fighting early Wednesday morning.

The proposed Diaz vs. Miller fight couldn't be agreed upon by both parties due to Diaz not willing to fight at 185 and Miller not willing to drop down to 170. Neither camp was able to agree on a suitable catchweight.

So, in comes the 33-year-old Santos, the husband of Strikeforce 145-pound women's champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, who is 1-1 in Strikeforce and 18-13 overall. His lone win came against Marius Zaromskis at Strikeforce: Los Angeles in what also was his 170-pound debut.

Diaz, 23-7 (1 NC), successfully defended his title against KJ Noons in October. He became the first-ever Strikeforce welterweight champion last January when he defeated Marius Zaromskis via first-round TKO.

The title fight is expected to serve as the main event on the Showtime televised card. Also signed for the event is a middleweight title fight between champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Robbie Lawler, Herschel Walker vs. Scott Carson and Roger Gracie vs. Trevor Prangley.

According to sources, only four bouts are going to be televised on Showtime due to the two title fights scheduled.

yeah, but Semtex kinda fucked it up when he kept saying he wanted another fight (KJ) before he fought Nick so the fans would know him better. Should still be an exciting fight, Cyborg looked great against Whitemare.
Now they can try to set up Semtex-KJ and if that falls through have Semtex fight Whitemare or Voelker. And have the winner of T Wood-Sponge lined up for a shot after him.

^^lol you're jokin, right? just having a big mouth is no reason to get a fight with a champion. mayhem hasnt done anything recently to earn that fight. no disrespect to sakuraba, but miller's last meaningful win was back in 2007 against tim kennedy. you really think diaz fears him?

& lol @ only being willing to come down by 2lbs for the catch-weight. obviously he doesnt want it that bad.
