Jim, the fact is, nothing comical could be found in that post. Why you would expect someone to find it comical is beyond me...:paranoid:
No, the fact is wether it is comical or not is subjective.

I will allow you the chance to clean this up. Consider it a "pardon" if you will (I often do this when people type in haste.) Listen, you are making the claim that the bible can not be proven to contain any factual accounts of anything. What you are implying is the bible does not contain factual accounts and everything is false (including history.) If I can show you ONE instance (out of many) of FACTUAL accounts that ARE contained in the bible (factual meaning it is a fact and it is recorded in history, archaeology or nature) will you agree to leave this section of the board for six months? If I cannot show you any factual accounts in the bible I will leave this site (not just the forum) for one year.

If you want to reconcile or clarify your statement do so. If you want to take me up on my offer do so, because I have a GREAT one waiting for you as we speak.
Ok, there may be facts scattered here and there throughout the scripture, but fact based myth is still myth.

And no, I did not mean to imply that there is nothing that is possibly true in the Bible. In fact I acknowledged the possibility that it could be 100% true.

LOL, no I do not care to take you up on your little "wager." If you have a great point to make, then just make your point. Who knows, maybe somebody will learn something. It is possible to carry a discussion without being argumentative or condescending. I think we would all be better off if we could carry discussions in that fashion.

from my knowledge the people of the way had saturday as their holy day or the sabath. Until later on people changed it to sunday

That's what I read. And 'people' will always be responsible for shit. That's why I can't believe that the Bible is the "word of God" when 'PEOPLE' wrote the book and organized it and put it together and keep translating it and reprinting it into every language on the Earth.

I'll still have to read the Bible though so I can get my own personal interpretation down though. I just have a problem believing some of that stuff...

Heresy, which version would you recommend? I know you said the KJV is all right, but which one is "the best"?

There are a couple of school's of thought on why Christians modified the day of rest to Sunday (as opposed to Sundown Friday evening to Sundown Saturday evening).

Keep in mind at the time of the death of Jesus (and shortly after), Judaism and Christianity had many similarities (from religious practice to physical characteristics). However, in order to distinguish themselves from the Pharisees, the new Christians switched their sabbath from Sat. to sunday in order to avoid serious oppression from the Romans.

Others believe that a Pope or the Catholic church (don't know who, or when) switched the Christian sabbath from Sat. to Sunday because that is the day the alleged resurection Jesus...

And this is your right. However, in my opinion, you will be justified if you have read it and you come to your own conclusion. Now let me ask you an honest question. Lets say for the sake of argument that you believe the story of Eve being tempted in the garden. Lets say you don't believe anything else in the bible for the reasons you listed above. Now the question, if Satan were able to distort the spoken word of God that he gave to Adam face to face, how much harder would it be to distort the written word of god over a long period of time?

I'll still have to read the Bible though so I can get my own personal interpretation down though. I just have a problem believing some of that stuff...
And for this reason you will most likely not understand it. Instead of tossing everything you have learned about the bible out of the window, you are going in with a BIAS and UNBELIEF.

Heresy, which version would you recommend? I know you said the KJV is all right, but which one is "the best"?
The reason I am suggesting to use a KJV bible is because it is the most widely used translation, and it is easier to use with a greek lexicon and strongs concordance. An alternative would be an English Standard Version (ESV)

No, the fact is wether it is comical or not is subjective.
Fair enough.

speculation.
Supported by history.

Ok, there may be facts scattered here and there throughout the scripture, but fact based myth is still myth.
I have said nothing about fact based on myth. "Factual" meaning it is a fact supported by recorded history, archaeology or nature has NOTHING to do with myth and EVERYTHING to do with it being PROVEN 100%

And no, I did not mean to imply that there is nothing that is possibly true in the Bible. In fact I acknowledged the possibility that it could be 100% true.
You still have failed in clarifying your position. You said, and I quote, "This is not to insult anyone's beliefs, because who knows, maybe the Bible is 100% genuine, but the Bible can not be proven to contain any factual accounts of anything " (bold emphasis mine.) When you use BUT and start to compare and contrast you are opening a can of worms. You have stated the bible can NOT be PROVEN to conatain ANY factual accounts of ANYTHING. Yes, you acknowledged that MAYBE the bible is 100% genuine, but you have NOT clarified your position pertaining to the bible containing factual accounts.

LOL, no I do not care to take you up on your little "wager." If you have a great point to make, then just make your point. Who knows, maybe somebody will learn something. It is possible to carry a discussion without being argumentative or condescending. I think we would all be better off if we could carry discussions in that fashion.
Again, I ask that you clarify your statement (pertaining to factual accounts in the bible) or withdraw it alltogether. Also, do not confuse using a sword with being argumentative or condescending. In addition, asking you to clarify your position is not argumentative or condescending but respectful in nature.

Also, at those mentioning the sabbath or inquiries about it you have several sabbaths celebrated by hebrew/jewish people.

If that idea had been put into Adam's head by "Satan" then it would be embeded in everyone after him, in my opinion. He would have taught that to his kids and so on, that's how society still is today. I have the KJV, I just didn't know if you said that one because you knew I had it or because it was better than others. And I actually do try to read it without bias, I was just being an asshole w/ the Pagan issue. And I'm not going in with an unbelief, I honestly don't know if there is or isn't a "God." But if there is one, I don't think it would trip if I referred to it as "energy" because that's in every in the universe (or so I believe).

You just can't stop contradicting yourself. I completely stay out of threads, and here you go, bringing my name up in them and forcing my hand. It is a shame.

If you are going to tell other people to keep YOUR name out of THEIR mouth....for fucks sake, LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

Edited over and over again as I keep finding more instances......this is getting sad. You're second only to about that-one-girl-from-Idaho for being obsessed with me.

In the book of Acts (16:14) there's a character by the name of Lydia. Since she came from the East and sold purple goods which were luxury items. Im sure that Jesus got a few zips from her on credit.

Most Biblical scholars agree that Jesus did not smoke marijuana, that is not until he met Heman who offered him some dank and they rolled all through the night until the holiest joint ever was created. They celebrated by blazin' and after that, Jesus walked on water, made water turn to wine and so on.

Re-up for the lulz.

GEN 2:17-..."you must not eat from the tree...for when you eat it you will surely die."

GEN 3:4- "you will not die, the serpent said" "you will be like God"

Adam CHOSE to defy God and his sovereignty, which the tree represented. He did not trust that God had his best interest in mind. Adam knew exactly what God said. Satan didnt distort what Adam heard from God, he distorted what Adam and Eve thought of God.

No, he distorted exactly what they heard from God. He used what they heard against them, they fell for it, thousands or millions of years later (depending on who you ask) we're still paying the price for it...
