PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden is apologizing for nude photos that have surfaced on the internet.

Oden says the pictures, taken with his cell phone and sent to a former girlfriend, were taken about 1½ years ago. A friend told the 21-year-old Tuesday morning that the pictures were making the rounds on the internet.

"I would like to apologize to everybody: Portland, the fans, the organization," Oden told reporters at the Blazers practice facility. "It was very embarrassing."

Oden is out for this season after fracturing his left kneecap during a game against the Houston Rockets on Dec. 5. He averaged 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds in 21 starts.

The 7-foot-center was the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Ohio State. He missed his rookie season after have microfracture surgery on his right knee.

Teams began to frequently call the Bulls about Tyrus Thomas' availability following his blow-up with Vinny Del Negro.

Chicago is determined to deal Thomas and are looking for expiring contracts and a 2010 or future first-round draft pick, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Bulls are also exploring ways to package Thomas with Kirk Hinrich.

Charlotte has offered Acie Law, Flip Murray and their 2010 first-round pick, a league executive said.

Portland has offered Steve Blake or Travis Outlaw, who are both expirings, along with two second round picks.

The New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Hornets are among the multiple teams who’ve spoken to Chicago about Thomas.
God dammit all they want is an expiring and a first and KP wants to be stingy???

A league source confirmed to The Columbian on Thursday that the Portland Trail Blazers are highly interested in Chicago Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas. Columbian

The source said the Blazers' are intrigued by Thomas' youth and his shot-blocking abilities. In addition, Thomas would fit in well with Portland's timeline and current roster needs. Yahoo! Sports originally reported that the Blazers offered either Steve Blake or Travis Outlaw — both of whom have expiring contracts — and two future second-round draft picks for Thomas. The Bulls reportedly declined the deal, though, because they want more value in return. Columbian

why do we need tyrus thomas again?
toughness and defense come to mind. he would be a great backup for Aldridge plus he's still young enough to develop into a high quality player. All we'd have to give up is a first and an expendable player. Hell if we really need a draft pick that bad just have KP tell Paul Allen to open up his check book like the last 3 or 4 years and buy a pick or two.

Roy: Without a trade, Trail Blazers will still be 'dangerous'
By Jason Quick, The Oregonian
February 11, 2010, 12:28PM

He won't play in the game but could return to the Blazers lineup next week against the Clippers.Brandon Roy says he thinks the Trail Blazers do not need to make a move at the trading deadline to make the playoffs.

“Unless it’s like a great deal for us, then I think I understand the approach of not making a move and letting us fight it out,’’ Roy said. “We are still a good team.’’

Roy said, however, that a playoff push would probably have to include his return to the lineup and a healthy Travis Outlaw. Roy could return as soon as the Feb. 16 home game against the Los Angeles Clippers, and Outlaw has been cleared to begin practicing on Feb. 15. He could return as soon as a week after that, perhaps Feb. 21 at home against Utah.

“If we are healthy with everybody besides Greg (Oden) and Joel (Przybilla), we can beat any team in the West,’’ Roy said. “If we get in a seven-game series, we can beat any team, even without having our centers.’’

The Blazers this season have won the season series with San Antonio (3-0), clinched a series victory over Phoenix (2-0 with one remaining), and have won the first two meetings against Dallas. They have also split with Houston (2-2).

They are 1-1 against the Lakers, 1-1 against Denver, and 0-3 against Utah.

“The Lakers are going to be tough, you have to give them their props,’’ Roy said. “But I’ve played against Utah, we’ve played Denver. We can beat those teams. And we’ve proven we can beat Dallas and San Antonio. And even though we haven’t beaten Utah, I think we can play them in a seven-game series.’’

Roy said he thinks the Blazers are better suited for a playoff series because there are days off between games, allowing two key Blazers a chance to rest: Veterans Juwan Howard and Andre Miller.

Plus, he thinks the team gained extensive knowledge from last season’s first-round series against Houston.

“I still think we can be dangerous, because after being in the playoffs last year, we know how to shrink the season down better now,’’ Roy said. “Last year, we didn’t know, we just ran into playoffs. This year, I think we will stop, and take it one game at a time.’’

God I wanna shake the shit outta like 3/4 of the blazer fan base... lol

NO TRADES THIS YEAR.

unless its steve blake for brandon jennings. lol!!! but you get what im saying.

Tyrus thomas.. really? REALLY? dante cunningham is just a shorter version of Tyrus Thomas and he has WAY more upside then Thomas.

I don't understand why people wanna trade in a season where we aren't gonna win the championship... we gonna unload some young talent so we can get a guy who MIGHT get us to the 2nd round of the playoffs? yeah I'd rather not.

But then people wanna say trade blake and outlaw for ___________(fill in the blank) I mean what realistically can we get back? supposedly Tyrus Thomas?... wow 2nd round of the playoffs here we come!!! get real blazer fans.

once roy gets back we will be in the middle of the pack for the western conference, add that outlaw is coming back after the AS break as well... shit, granted the right match up we could get to the 2nd round with the guys we have now.

before we trade anyone significant to get someone significant back we gotta wait till next year. once we see everyone together and how everyone fits on this team. we don't need o'neal part 2 in the rose city people.

now I know Blake and outlaw have expiring contracts which makes them the more logical choice to move. but like I said, what are you gonna get back for those guys?

Blake could walk at the end of this year or take a pay cuy and re sign with us sense he likes it in portland so much... same with Outlaw, he is comfortable here. and with that injury he might be willing to sign with us for cheaper then expected before he got hurt...

You can't give up on Bayless or Batum or Rudy (in my opinion is probably the most over valued blazer). but you can't give up on him this early either. and everyone who wants to do a deal with us this year wants 1 of those 3 in a deal. we just CAN'T do it yet.

yea, I only want to get rid of blake, let bayless get more PT and let him develop more. I also wouldnt mind at all of getting rid of martell. Sure he can hit the 3 in the corner, but anywhere else on the court he is ehhhhhhh. he's got D though, but batum should start over him and when outlaw comes back have him come off the bench behind him.

you wouldn't trade Blake and a first for Thomas?? We're not getting an impact player with that pick unless we miss the playoffs and get EXTREMELY lucky and get into the top 3 somehow. Thomas is a good player (far from great) that can back up both forward spots and be a great shot blocker/rebounder off the bench, which is something this team severely lacks (in addition to other things). I'm not the biggest fan of Thomas but clearly he would be better for this team than Blake and probably at least as good as Outlaw (but with more upside).

And who is saying a trade wins us a title this year? 30 teams could make trades and 29 of em aint winning the title. The goal is to improve your overall talent level and balance the roster out.

As far as Rudy, Bayless and Batum, I like em as much as anybody and they all bring something unique, but lets be honest, there are not enough minutes to go around for everybody. A consolidation is going to have to be made at some point. The key is knowing when to sell high. Good GMs tend to maximize their assetts in trade, bad ones sell low and reduce their teams to shambles.(Warriors).

gotta clear the logjam at sf and Blake's gotta go to get Bayless some mins so dude can develope, but I wouldn't trade away the future for somebody that will only play this season and then leave via free agency.Blazer fan's just gotta be patient, but we do need a Carl Landry,Kendrick Perkins type banger fo sho.
