I don't think Outlaw is ever going to be a starter. He has issues with his endurance due to his asthma, plus he actually wants to come off the bench. He potentially has starter talent, but due to those 2 things I don't think he will. Plus its not often you have a guy with his talent/potential who actually embraces his role off the bench and prefers it to starting. I think Frye could be traded on draft day, so here come Travis' minutes again.

ok faggot, get off my nuts, look who is stalkin now! haha if you knew anything about the blazers they are considering playing travis outlaw at the 3 to make room for Lamarcus and Frye at the PF because outlaw toward the end of the year was playing at the 3 because frye was playing so well... that means it will be martell(not really a 3 he is a 2) james jones, and maybe sliding roy over to the 3 for a little when they wanna run a PG with Rudy and Roy in the game.

How are you gonna move someone over to a spot that he's been playing. what kinda dumb ass comment is that, people change their rolls all the time in basketball.
I.E. Amare to the 4 and shaq at the 5 for the suns

or how Pau Gasol is the 5 for the lakers and Odom plays the 4 while Bynum is injured
Dide u are an idiot!! U dont know shit about the game!! I bet mannish is reading this and wishin he could even clown!! Just give it up and let the other blazer fans that know shit analyze the squad!!! Got Em!!

According to the buzz on OLive, Lester Hudson is a KP target. I can't say I'd be mad if we ended up with the only guy in college basketball history to record a quadruple double. I probably wouldn't even be mad if we took him at #13. That might end up being the best move KP ever made.

edit: OK so I was a slight bit loaded last night...

Best Oden Update Yet

From Barrett's Blog

Greg Oden was in Portland recently, for the Rose Festival Parade, but has now returned home to Indianapolis. After a week there, he'll return to Ohio State to take some summer courses, and, of course, will continue to workout. Greg worked out at the practice facility over the weekend, and looked phenominal. He's used this time to really improve his outside shot, and has surprised nearly everyone with how consistent he's become.

Greg's free-throw shooting is very, very solid, and he's developed a deadly jump hook, and can go with either hand. Greg is raring to go up and down, but probably won't be cleared for full-speed scrimmaging until August. He's in tremendous shape, and is absolutely ripped up. In one of his final workouts in Portland, in front of coaches, reportedly, jaws were hitting the floor, as he was repeatedly attempting to tear the rim off the backboard. He's developed an impressive touch from the perimeter, and anything in the paint will be a dunk.

Blazer trainer: Oden's knee 'fabulous'
Rookie center should be ready to go for preseason

By Kerry Eggers

The Portland Tribune, Jun 12, 2008, Updated 12.4 hours ago (3 Reader comments)

Greg Oden’s surgically repaired knee is progressing at such a clip that the man in charge of his rehabilitation believes he will be ready to play for the Trail Blazers during the 2008-09 exhibition season.

“I totally expect Greg to be able to play in the preseason,” says Jay Jensen, soon to begin his 15th season as the Blazer trainer. “How Nate (McMillan, the Portland coach) decides to use him, though, is up to Nate.”

Jensen stresses that the Blazers will continue to go slowly with Oden, who underwent microfracture surgery last September and missed the entire 2007-08 season. They did the same thing with Brandon Roy, who played in only the final two preseason games last year while recovering from a heel injury.

“We’re biding our time with Greg,” Jensen says. “Our goals this summer with him (include) maintaining his weight, strengthening his legs and letting the healing process continue without him taking a hard pounding.

“He’s not fragile, but it has been a long process for him. He has been getting antsy to get back out there, and we have been holding the reins on him.”

The 7-foot center, taken as the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft, is living in Columbus, Ohio, this summer, taking classes at Ohio State. While visiting Portland last week, he twice jogged a half-mile with Jensen.

“But his main cardio work is done on the elliptical machine and treadmill,” Jensen says. “He is doing shooting drills and stuff in the halfcourt.

“In August, we’ll start having him play one-on-one, two-on-two, three-on-three. And in September, when the guys come back (for informal voluntary scrimmage sessions), we’ll let him start playing fullcourt games. He’ll play maybe every other day, and every other game. The guys usually play six or seven games a day. We’ll have him play one game, sit out a game, go back in, sit out, and gradually build him up.”

Oden is examined monthly by Blazer team doctor Don Roberts, who has given positive reports.

“The knee looks fabulous,” Jensen says, “and his body is unbelievably powerful. His lower extremities are ridiculously powerful.”

Jensen guesses Oden weighs between 285 and 290 pounds.

“Once he gets more court activity, he is going to get down to his playing weight, which might be between 275 and 280,” the Blazers’ veteran trainer says. “But he won’t be in basketball shape until he’s out there playing basketball.”

anybody hear the rumor that we're trading up to #5?
yeah, that shit with memphis, get collins and cardinal to go with #5, and we send them Raef and #13. i don't know...this trade just doesnt have the right feel for me. unless we will pull another steve francis and just buy these guys out, i dunno, seems like there are better ways to shop our pick

^^^I dont know it sounds like a great move for us to me. Collins expires this year and Cardinal expires next year. There's usually a good market for expiring contracts around the trade deadline, so that gives us two potential trading chips in consecutive years. And we jump from #13 to #5 without giving up anything significant. From #5 we can trade up probably as far as #3 with the right package and land Mayo or Bayless. This move would be the best thing KP can do short of getting us Rose somehow (wont happen).

^^^I heard about that. But I also heard Outlaw is to the point where he's almost being considered untouchable. I gotta assume that anything we do with NJ is either for Harris or their pick, but only if Augustin or Westbrook is still on the board. I have absolutely no idea what we would want from NY other than their pick. I gotta say I don't know what the hell is going on, but if the reports are true, there is at least one deal on the table and it's Portland's to accept or decline right now.

LOL we just bought the #27 pick from NO. We have more picks than we have roster spots so this seems like a clear sign that we have a deal in place to trade up in the draft. Paul Allen + KP = Gods?

so we have 5 draft picks and how many spots are open... Von wafer is done.. and james jones has a player option that we will hear about soon whether he exercises that option or not. and have two players coming in with oden and rudy, so trades are inetivable
