In a new interview with Panda CHOP, M-Eighty spoke about the mythical Eminem, Canibus and Dr. Dre collaboration song: “When I had that Eminem song with Dr. Dre and Canibus, I played it for people to let them know it was real. I never put it out. I played it for few people.” said M-Eighty.
Then he continued: “We did this NFT thing with Canibus fans. It was NFT experience. You come and you’ll be in the studio with Canibus and do a Q&A and listen to his new album. But for the people who paid for the NFT, you got to hear this unreleased song, produced by Dr. Dre with Eminem and Canibus on it.”
“Find people who attended the session. I didn’t play it over the loudspeaker. I took each one aside and played it for them one by one. And I was like, you can go online and talk about it but I’m not going to sit here and listen to people telling me it’s not real. I don’t own the rights to it though, nor Canibus. But it’s a real song. I will let you hear it in my house Panda CHOP.” M-Eighty added.
The beef between Canibus and Eminem began around 1998, rooted in tension over a misunderstood ghostwriting rumor, a rejected collaboration, and competitive ego. Canibus falsely believed Eminem wrote LL Cool J’s diss track “The Ripper Strikes Back,” causing initial friction, which intensified after Canibus acted rudely towards Eminem and later took offense when Eminem rejected his song submission.
