Kalyn is on point asking for details. You need to give people a reason to believe you can actually do what you claim you will. Break it down homie. How do you plan to accomplish this? Make these cats feel like your compilation (btw, bad idea to promote your project as a "compilation" in 2005) won't be another one of these half-ass attempts to conquer the world, on a budget that's about as much as a used '98 Honda.

If you think you can convince the entire music industry, you shouldn't have any problem convincing me & everyone else on here.

not at all i think. im more so in the mind state of what do i got to lose. if i do a project give a lil and it dont work for me I didnt take 2 steps back but if it works well then Im 2 steps foward. All promo is good promo even if it is in a negative way. It has nothin to do with inexperience and everything to do with I make music for the love of music.

Success is never garaunteed so every project is a gamble.

Messing with people who don't know what they're doing, don't have the knowledge, experience, or resources to make anything happen is definately a step backwards when you consider that same time, energy and effort could be spent with people who know exactly what they're doing, have the resources to make things happen, and know how to be successful in this business.

There's lessons to be learned from every situation though so it's never a *complete* waste unless you've been down that road before and didn't learn the first time around.


That's a common misconception by people who assume it's true but who don't really know what the fuck they're talking about, so slap whoever told you that. Bad promo can easily hurt a career/reputation/image just as much as good promo can help or even take it to the next level.

We all gotta learn right? Someone took a risk on u right? Im not seeing what u got to lose if u fuck wit a new kid personally. I mean like u said success is never guarenteed but neither is failure. Maybe Im just very optimistic and nieve but I see good in most situations people wouldnt fuck wit similar to this one.

Im not seein how bad promo is bad kuz 9 outta 10 someone else is gonna hear about u. People buy recoginition. U dont see people walkin round buyin knock off shit proudly. They buy the name more than anything else when making a purchase. I know someone u know maybe even u have bought something in ur lifetime kuz someone else recommened it to u or just kuz u heard of it and was curious this is the same kinda thing with bad promo. i feel what ur sayin bout bad promo can destroy ur shit but u gotta be at a high enough level to where ur losin thousands to millions of customers. I dont think a project like this can hurt u

Expecting people to have their shit together when they make claims (even when they're outlandish) isn't being negative homie. If cats were smart they would pay attention to every word I say and apply it because I'm living what they dream about and want for themselves. I won't just hand it to you but I'll put you in the right direction and dust you with a little free game to work with. You still have to do your own work.

And the only ones who might think I'm negative are the ones who arn't sharp enough to see what I'm really tryin' to do when I chop. Some cats might get sensitive when I break it down but the music business and life in general ain't all warm milk & cookies so that's not how I'm going to talk to you. If it's too much to handle, you ain't cut out for this business.

Bad promo is just that, bad promo. If I tell 10 of my friends that your album was fucking horrible after I buy it, none of them are going to buy it. And if they happen to know anyone else that listens to the same type of music, they are more than likely to go and say, "Hey, have you heard of *insert name here* their album was fucking horrible." And then way less people are going to buy it. But if I had said, hey this album is heat go and pick it up-some of them will.

You may end up learning the hard way fuckin with people that aren't on a "professional" level or at least business minded. There's a lot of projects that are supposed to come out, but don't end up being released for whatever reason. You may have networked with someone and dropped a verse, but nobody except for you, them, and some of the homies will ever hear it. That and the album you thought you were gonna be on didn't get dropped-so unless you learn a lesson it was a waste of a verse. Obviously this is all hypothetical, I'm just tryin present it a little different.

But yeah, bad promo isn't going to get you anywhere. People may hear your name and even some of your music, but if they hear bad things about you/your music, why would they become a fan?
