(If this has already been posted in the neer past please direct me to that post....)

"it is said" that the aztes have calculated the "end of days" as of the year 2012. Not only that, but Isacc Newton, which has been a reliable source for almost the entire foundation of our physical world descoveries, aslo documented the end of days as a "calculation" to be Dec. 23, 2012. Obviously the catholic bible does not state the date for the end of days, but does say its near. What thoughts do you folks have on this issue.....?

Isacc Newton stated Dec. 23, 2012 as "the end of days." He did not say how or why..... I've heard contradictions of what the mayan's calendar said, but why did Isacc Newton say the same thing with out mentioning the Mayans....

He estimated that the world would end no earlier than 2060. In predicting this he said, "This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fanciful men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, and by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail." (source)

Isaac Newton was also pretty insane, possibly from all the lead and mercury poisoning he endured while trying to turn lead and other materials into gold, etc.

^^^^ I dont think that an insane man would have the capability of inventing mathanalysis and discovering the three laws of motion, gravitational laws and other crucial shit that he discovered.... You mentioned a quote he said, I was wondering if you could inlighten me to the source of where you found that quote....thanks...

I included the source immediately after the quote (click "source").

I never said he wasn't a genius, he was probably one of the greatest minds to ever live, but there is a fine line between genius and insanity and Newton was definitely far out there, especially during the later parts of his life (and as I mentioned, it's highly possible he acquired lead or mercury poisoning, which could have led to his "nervous breakdowns"). He spent much more time on alchemy research than science or anything else for that matter, and dedicated countless hours to researching signs, the bible, the occult, etc.

You have to consider the time period he lived in as well - a time where astrology, mysticism and spiritualism played huge roles over the lives of nearly everyone and Newton was no exception - he was a product of his time.

I have to say 2012 is definitely the most talked about year.

EDIT: And no, it obviously will not end in 2012. For example, many people tried to expect something to happen on dates like 4/04/04, 5/05/05, 6/06/06 yet NOTHING happened.

On the side note, I hear people were talking about world ending in 2000, yet again, NOTHING happened, is that not right?

no. how can a society predict the end of civilization or whatnot but not see their own demise and do somethin about it? keep it real

they did see their own demise and they knew that you cant change shit about it, they also knew of where they stood in time .
how they did it is by lookin at the stars, somehow they were so good at it that they surpassed astrology and had more meaning to whatever positions the stars are in.
