That's a pretty lame argument. And for some reason when the gay topic is brought up it always leads to pedophilia by people who oppose gays or "the right". No one is jumping on the pedophile "movement". No one supports that shit. Being gay or not had nothing to do with it. Child molestation is about perverts and power. The latter is why we see a lot of people in a position of power who did it (like the Church or Boy Scout leaders, etc ).
There is however a legit question on how to try to provide therapy to these people who are attracted to children (not rapists). For example, there was a person a couple years ago who recognized he had a problem, he was attracted to children and he wanted help. He never acted out on any of these thoughts and didn't commit any crimes but he knew he had the problem. When he seeked out help, he found there essentially was no such system in place for this. There were no counselors or therapists who specialized in this specifically and up until now the focus has only been on punishment for those who have committed crimes rather than any sort of prevention. It's such a taboo thing in society, no one really wants to touch it or understand it, and I can't blame people, it's some sick shit, but the reality is there are clearly a lot of people out there with this problem or else we wouldn't have so many crimes against children and not much out there in the form of prevention measures. There's a lot of debate as to what kind of methods should be used to deal with these types of people and no real clear answers since there isn't much data to go on.
