Ive heard countless times since the certification of My Ghetto Report Card that goin gold aint shit.... blah, blah. If you sell 500,000 copies in the US, that means one out every 500 people have purchased a copy of your CD. put that in perspective, its rap music so not alot of people over 40 is likely to be purchasing an album, so knock 45 million people off that list. the twelve and under crowd can be counted out if you have explicit lyrics so kill another 45 mill on that side. that leaves 160 million even in the age range to purchase the music, which im sure over half would never think of buying a rap cd, so now your playing with a rap population of 80 million(MAXIMUM!!!!!!!), which is retardedly high IMO, and if a half mill pick up your cd, 1 out of 160 people in the rap community have purchased your CD, sounds pretty amazing to me. only 92 cd's in music history(100+ years of charting) of ANY GENRE have sold 10 million or more. you can add another 40 that have dropped 8 mill or more. going platinumn has never been easy, especially in hip hop. im willing to bet there aint 500 rap albums all time that have gone gold, so with 40 and short having 4 or 5 a piece that have made it there from a small market like the bay area california, or more impressively for e-40 from a city thats a couple of stoplights long, its simply incredible. so add the successof con-funk-shun and N2Deep, Vallejo may be the music mecca of the world. their underground artist scene is incredible. hell, two of the best spitters to ever touch the mic called vallejo their home. thats shocking, pimps!!!!!!!

first off, rap aint the only form of music. think outside the box, my nigga. and i meant per capita, obviously vallejo doesnt contribute to the world like a new york does in terms of production. but regional success as far as the entire west coast, more vallejo artist have made their niche in rap in the bay area, than cities 5 times their size. look how many v-town rappers have sold 200,000 units or more on one cd. B-Legit, Mac Dre, Celly Cel, Ray Luv, Young Lay, Dubee, Mac Mall, Suga T, E-40, the Click, N2Deep, Baby Bash......., you feelin me now, family? name me that many San Fran or Oakland rappers off the top that have sold like these cats from a city of less than 100,000 people.

I bet lil italy did too when he released a album on no limit cuz they were at there peak then. D shot as well sold over 200k on 1 album too. Side note ray luv is from santa rosa...... Vallejo is a little ass city knowen all over the world....

You're exaggerating cuz.. Put up some figures and stop pulling this stuff out of your ass. Ain't none of them niggas sold over 200,000, just Baby Bash and The Click(B-Legit, E-40, & D-Shot). 4 people! Mac Mall maybe, but I'm not too sure so I'll leave that one open.

Oakland - Spice 1, Too Short, MC Hammer, 2Pac, Yukmouth(Solo), Digital Underground, The Luniz(As A Group), Steady Mobb'n(Bavgate & Crooked Eye when they were signed to no-limit), Dru Down, etc..

Honorable mention, Heiroglyphics & Delinquents..

^Not sure if they actually reached 200,000.. But that's about right cuz. Considering that half of the people you named from Vallejo did not sale that much, and Oakland is 4 times bigger, that's 4 times as many people that sold over 200,000. Ya'll put too much on that little city, congrats to 40 but don't try and make it look like some small ass city in the north bay is out shining everyone else, coz that's far from the truth.
