Tommy James in collaboration with music genius T.O.N.E-z makes classic rock musical history in the new decade as he remakes the classic Draggin’ the Line single that was originally released in 1971. Even in the days of Paul McCartney and other top artists, Tommy’s song went to top five in the charts.

The hip-hop-infused “Draggin’ The Line” (2020 Version) is off James’ first new album in ten years, Alive, written and produced by Tommy. Alive charted #10 on Billboard’s Independent Chart.
“I'd been thinking about a remake of "Draggin' The Line" for a long time and felt that a street version might be perfect.” says Tommy. “I got ahold of T.O.N.E-z, who is a great friend and an amazing talent, to lay down a rap. Then I called in another fantastic friend, Stevie Van Zandt, to record the guitar solo.”
And that is how this special 2020 version of the hit song was born.

The 70’s were clearly not an end for Tommy and his amazing work. Tommy can be heard weekly on his SiriusXM 60s On 6 satellite radio show, and continues to tour the U.S., playing dozens of sold out shows annually. His critically acclaimed autobiography, Me The Mob and The Music, has a film version in the works with producer Barbara DeFina (Good Fellas, Casino).
