If Floyd is scared then why is he discussing fighting Pacquiao twice with the winner of the first fight getting an additional 20% in the rematch? Doesn't seem like someone is scared, seems pretty confident to me.

Manny Pacquiao Next Fight: Floyd Mayweather Will Beat Pacman, Marquez Says

"Maniatis also told the Manila Standard that Mayweather, who has reportedly demanded a rematch clause, wants the winner of the first fight to get an additional 20 percent of the revenue in a rematch."
I don't care what all these other guys are saying, the only people I want to hear from are Floyd and Pacquiao. I mean there are reports coming out that Al Haymon is working on securing a Mayweather Cotto rematch. Who to believe.

This past Saturday night, Mexican superstar*Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) was in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato to support his older brother, Ramon*Alvarez, who scored a knockout victory over former champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris.

There have been several reports in the United States that influential manager Al Haymon is making moves to secure WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr.*for May of next year, and in turn it would crush any immediate plans for a Canelo-Cotto showdown.

Canelo's*handlers, Chepo and Eddy Reynoso, are not worried about these rumors. They are*confident that Canelo's promoter,*Golden Boy Promotions, will reach a deal for a fight with Cotto.

The Mexican superstar's handlers*revealed that "negotiations are well advanced for the fight with Cotto" for*May 2.

If the rumors are accurate, that Haymon is trying to get Cotto, then it would indicate that Mayweather has little interest in facing career rival Manny Pacquiao next.

Lets not forget saying floyd said he would fight Pacman then back out
When did he back out? Pacquiao had a problem with testing too close to the fight and wanted 24 days and didn't want to get tested on the day off (then says "you can test me in between rounds"). If anyone backed out, it was Pacquiao since he's now agreeing to what he originally balked at.

I think both guys have botched the chances of this fight in the past. The Cotto rematch IS lucrative and attractive to Floyd to win the lineal MW title. The problem is, no one is asking for that fight over the Pacquiao matchup. If he beats Pacquiao and Cotto beats Canelo, I think we'd all like to see the Mayweather/Cotto rematch for Floyd's 49th fight. That would be huge. But I damn sure do not want to see that before he fights Pacquiao.

I mean, can you say it any clearer than that?

The fight is there to be made. I think all that has to happen is that they have to get close on the money. If Mayweather is pegged to make $100 mil, I bet Pac would take $60mil and just say screw it. It's twice what he's gonna make against anyone else.

The best fight for him, monetary wise, is Pac. He doesn't need the lineal, already said belts don't mean anything and he already laid hands on Cotto. The biggest fights are Floyd and Pac, GGG and Canelo/Cotto winner and Stevenson and Kovalev. If Cotto beats Canelo GGG is next up for the shot if I'm not mistaken.

I think that goes without saying. From a historian standpoint, winning the lineal MW title will be a big deal to people that didn't see Floyd fight. From a fans perspective, we will say what you just said. It would resonate with us a lot more if he were to beat GGG at 160 than Cotto who he already beat before even though Cotto looks better now.

But all of us will say that he ducked Pac if the fight falls through now I would think.

Why would we all say he ducked Manny if it doesnt go through? Did Arum accept the Showtime offer yet? Like Heresy said the ball is in Manny's court.

Oh yea I almost forgot........................Its up to Floyd. Got Em!!
again to clarify, it has to be a joint HBO/SHO event since both are currently under contract with each opposite network.

Based on reports, Arum is working with CBS CEO Les Moonves, CBS obviously being the parent company of Showtime (so apparently Espinoza isn't even involved).

Nothing really means much as of yet all we know is that there are talks going on. IMO the less information being reported the better, that could be a sign things are going well, versus each side talking shit to the media and releasing disinformation, etc., as they bo5h have been guilty of in the past.

You do know that Arum and Pacquaio were offered $40 million and 35% PPV upside...that offer was made 2 months ago maybe 3...and as Espinoza tweeted he hasn't heard a response to the offer from Arum. So if Haymon is trying to secure Cotto then it would seem like this situation is a second option being explored. Since the Cold War has ended how many BIG fights have we seen come about between Top Rank and Golden Boy (serious question)?

Oh stop it. The cold war was between Schaefer, Haymon vs HBO. Everything else is a work in progress. Fights take time cuz fighters do need to train you know. And why bring up Espinoza? He's not involved in any negotiations going on with Floyd vs Pac. His tweet ain't shit. Now the question becomes if someone is offering the highest purse for a fight in history, why would any networks say no? So if it doesn't fall through we all know who tried their best to make the fight happen. Hopefully Floyd comes through... It's all up to Floyd.

Thats fine. Im just making sure we all know the deal. Haters acting like its on Floyd now if it falls through when atleast the current offers are being thrown out by his side or his network. Just saying. Got Em!!
I'm saying it's on Floyd if there stands to be like $180 million to be made between them and they're only offering Manny $40 million with a smaller % of the PPV's or there's no fight. I also said that because it's pretty obvious that Manny wants the fight and they only have to really give him a reasonable offer and the fight should go through.

Floyd hasn't been as vocal about wanting the fight to happen for sure, ever. His comments at the end of the last Maidana fight were the closest thing to saying that he would definitely fight Manny publicly that I know of.

If you think Floyd doesn't have a say in who he fights next or what the offer to that fighter will be, you're clueless. CBS/Showtime aren't about to say "Sorry Floyd, we offered a really lowball offer to Top Rank for the fight that would've made you the most money in the history of boxing but they didn't take it so we didn't try to negotiate that any more" then lose money again on their next fight with Floyd.

You think people are hating on Floyd every time someone says something against what you believe. Get real dude. You say that I'm hating, then turn around and say "IT'S UP TO FLOYD!!" WTH????? Exactly man, it is up to Floyd to not F this up. Compare the comments that Manny has made after his fight, the pic 2-0-Sixx posted up from IG, the Foot Locker video etc... to what Floyd is saying.
