So if most of you don't know I'm a marine currently deployed in Iraq, and most of the time i sit around questioning religion and thinking very deeply about alot of shit. one thing that has been bothering me for a while is when i was recently sent home for a 2 week leave alot of people had questions about "what its like there", and one person had asked me if i have killed anyone yet. my answer is no, i tell him thats not my purpose and he talks to me like i'm a coward. at the time i was hard for me to explain to him what it really is about. I have not been attached head to head with anyone here, i have experianced morters and roadside bombs that have hit me, i am very fortunate that i wasn't hurt and i have lost friends here to blasts. i just don't see where people back home get off on saying what they'd do if they were here. do they understand we have limitations to what we can and can't do. is the media filling people's heads with gung ho bullshit.

If anyone calls you a coward for NOT killing people they are fucking idiots, plain and simple. If you know they are Christian you should say something like, "Well that's not very Christian of you" or some shit and see how they respond.

ehy homie ...dont even trip....I had people ask me that shit...and i tell them hey im a fuckin medic thats not really my job...of course if i get busted at ill bust back but my main reason for being there is taking care of OUR own ....
and those same people joined up the marines..... and 2 months into thier tour went crazy and flipped out...they dont understand that SHIT IS REAL.....and no one who hasnt been there in that situation at that given time can say how they are going to react....sure there are ways we would like to think we would react...but its all about them moments of truth... brush them haters off...try to educate them if you want...but tell them to really think about some shit before they open their mouth
