whyd you say he was shot in the chest if he was shot in the leg ?? which is it..........if it was his leg then id say it was his own gun that went off, if it was a attempt on his life though they need to get some better hitmen cause thats pretty wack if you try to kill someone and you can only hit their leg lol.

Hip-hop honcho
shot in the leg

DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Hours after appearing at a summit called to decry violence in the hip-hop world, rapper Chris Gotti was shot in the leg on W. 49th St.

Gotti, 39, whose brother Irv is the president of the rap record label Murder Inc., was wounded in the left leg in an 8:30 p.m. incident, police said. He was in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. No other details were available.

The shooting came hours after a 1 p.m. summit at the Millennium Broadway Hotel, on W. 44th St. near Broadway, called by Source magazine boss David Mays. Sean (Puffy) Combs, the Gottis and rappers Jermaine Dupri and Joaquin Dean were among the summit participants.

At the meeting, rappers and record executives pledged solidarity as they discussed issues ranging from the police response to hip-hop related incidents to alleged bias in the media.

Chris Gotti, who is credited with discovering R&B diva Ashanti, is also an executive with Murder Inc. The label is a partnership between the Gottis, rapper Ja Rule, and Island Def Jam Music Group.

The Gottis, whose real last name is Lorenzo, adopted the name in tribute to the late Gambino crime family boss John Gotti.

Last week, The Associated Press reported that federal prosecutors were investigating whether drug money has been funneled into Murder Inc.
